Lovin’ My Portable Stereo Turntable

A few months ago my daughter and I were shopping at an antique store. I remember coming around a corner and seeing some records to which my daughter immoderately asked “What the heck are these Mom? They look like big CD’s.” I was honestly surprised that she did not know what they were. She is 11 years old! I grew up with a turntable in my room and listened to records all the time. I guess I took that for granted and just expected her to know lol. I explained to her what they were and we ended up searching around the antique store until finding a turntable. I showed her how it would work and such…she was so curious and amazed. Fast forward a few weeks and I got a surprising email asking me if  I would be interested in reviewing..guess what…a turntable! YAY! I of course said yes and immediately went down town with my daughter to a local record store. I loved picking out some of my favorite albums and could not wait for the turn table to arrive.

On the day that the turn table arrived my daughter and I decided to spend the day cleaning house and listing to our new (to us) records. I was able to introduce her to a whole new level of sound. There is nothing that can compare to a turntable.

The turntable I was sent is made by 1byOne and is sold on Amazon. I picked out the turquoise color but you can also purchase black if you like. The briefcase style is great because it is easy for me to put away or pack and take anywhere. Although there are speakers with this turntable there are also RCA and headphone jack outputs so you can listen on your own or on your own speaker system with others. Plus the turntable doubles as a music player in which you can play your iPod, mobile phones or other music players. This is a feature my daughter loves and has used most often when enjoying music in her room. For extra enjoyment there is also 3 speeds. My daughter  things it is hilarious to play a record much faster or slower then normal!

Having this vintage turntable has brought back so many memories. I loved listening to records when I was a kid. As I stated before I had a turntable in my room. I remember listening to 50’s music for HOURS. My favorite album was one from the Happy Day’s T.V. Show. I still have the album cover but I don’t know what ever happened to the actual album. I have set a new goal for myself to find my favorite album from when I was a kid! I can’t wait to find it and listen to it again. But for now I will enjoy a little of every genera and just keep purchasing as many albums as I can! Thanks 1byone for making such a fun and great turntable for me to share with my kids!

  1. This post makes me smile and brings back a lot of memories of the old vinyls we all owned. I had lots of 45’s that I would play on my little turntable when I was young!!

  2. How cool?! I would love to have one of these. I remember my mom having records in the house when I was little. It would be cool to revisit those.

  3. I grew up with my grandparents playing records on their hi-fi, and now that they’re gone, it would be great to rekindle those memories with a turntable of my own. Love the color too!

  4. Now this brings back some old school memories. I would love to have a stereo like this. Super cool!

  5. Music played on a turntable has such a distinctive sound. I really love the fact that you can still buy a turntable on Amazon. You rarely see them these days at the store.
