I had never read any Jan Karon books before. In fact I had never even heard of The Mitford series. I can’t believe it has taken me this long to be carried away into the small little town of Mitford.

Mitford reminds me of the little town I grew up in. A town where everyone knows everyone. A town where people show honest and true kindness toward one another. Where they love each other and lend a helping hand wherever it is needed. In the Mitford series you will be taken on a journey with Father Tim who is the rector in the very small town of Mitford. Father Tim is everything you would want a rector to be. He is compassionate and there to help anyone who needs him. From a young boy who is full of piss and vinegar to a big ol’ mutt who he names Barnabas.

I loved reading this book. There was so much detail placed into every character that I felt like I was right there with them all. I felt like I was taking part in Father Tim’s dinner party, helping to value an old painting that belongs to one of his friends,  and helping to solve the mystery of a brake in.  It was great!

This book is filled with happiness. I don’t know how else to put it. It made me want to get to know my neighbors, take more time to enjoy the world around me and find more places to serve those who need it.

There are currently 9 books in The Mitford series and on 9/2 you will be able to pre-order the 10th book titled Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good. Plus I am happy to say that the first 150 people to pre-order will score an autographed copy!

How would you like to win a copy of Jan Karon’s At Home In Mitford? I am happy to say that you will have a chance to do just that! Good Luck!
