Tsubasafan Etsy Shop Review and Giveaway!

Getting to know tsubasafan

Where are you from? and a little bit about you

I’m from Kentucky. The eastern part of the state to be exact and I love ithere. It’s like permanently living inside a park. lol And I live right in theAppalachian mountains so of course there’s lots of trees and not very much flatland. There’s also an abundance of wildlife, there’s hardly a day goes by thatI don’t see a deer or bobcat or some other wild animal run around here.

I’m still in college, going to two different campuses and studying art. I’vebeen making jewelry for about a year and I still live at home with my dad andmy nine pets.

What items do you carry in yourshop?Jewelry. Earrings mostly, but I also make rings, bracelets, hairpins, andnecklaces. I’ve been thinking of making other things, but right now I’mfocusing on jewelry.

How did you decide on your shopname?Well, tsubasafan has been a username of mine for about five or six years so Istuck with it. At the time I didn’t know I was going to open my own shop oneday. Also for those who probably don’t know, my name comes from a manga series, which I adore by the way.

Do you have anything new you plan on adding to your store?
I’ve very slowly been adding a few pairings of sterling silver earrings, I wantto add more personalized items that I’ve hand painted/drawn. I’d also like tostart making magnets and anime fandom themed items.

Do you have a blog, twitter, orfacebook page?I don’t technically have a facebook page, it’s just my normal one right now. Ido however have a blog and twitter account that I try to update on a regularbasis that isn’y just my etsy jewelry. You can find both of those on my etsypage along with my flickr and deviantart accounts.

What is your inspiration when makinga new item?My inspiration is all around me and my tastes. I’m always mixing and matchingcolors to find what looks best with what. I also like odd components, adding alittle something to a necklace or pair of earrings to make them pop.

If I see something a friend is wearing I always like to see it up close andexamine how it’s made so I can think of how I could incorporate that into mynext project. It always makes them laugh when I ask too since I probably lookweird doing it. lol I also work at a gift shop that sells a lot of vintageitems so I’ve found a love for antiques and I try to show that in my work.

What items in your shop do you mostenjoy making and why?Probably the earrings as you can tell when you see how many I have listed. Ilike looking at the finished product and taking pictures of them. I also likethe idea that somewhere there’s someone wearing something I made that aren’tfamily or a friend.

Anything else you would like us toknow?A friend recently gave me several vintage earrings to make her some rings andthings and said I could keep the extra pieces, so look forward to some reallyunique looking rings and necklaces to pop up soon.
