My Thoughts on A Complete Idiot’sGuide to Raising A Strong Willed Child
I have a strong willed child. Somedays she drives me crazy and I feel that there is no way to get through to her!As I was scanning through the verylong list of Complete Idiot’s Guide books I quickly noticed this title. How inthe world could I pass up a book that could potentially help me raise my daughter?I knew this was a must read and since I loved the previous Complete IdiotsGuide books I had read I knew I would love this one as well!
After reading the first chapter of AComplete Idiot’s Guide to Raising A Strong Willed Child I was blown away withhow much they really knew about my daughter and my life. I learned that mydaughter is a strong willed extrovert and my eyes were opened up to many of thequirks about my daughter that drive me crazy! The book broke everything downand explained why my daughter does some of the things she does and why it mightseem like nothing to her but it is a huge deal to me! Her little brain looks atthings differently than me and not because I am an adult but she also seesthings different than other children her age. I learned why I feel that she isthe slowest at getting anything accomplished and why some of my discipline strategieshave not worked in the past. I also now know that I am not alone when I feelthat it is me doing something wrong (which it’s not).
This is truly an amazing book. Thereare so many facts that I needed to hear! I have switched up some of the waysthat I talk to my daughter as well as some of the ways I discipline and itseems to have made a very big difference in my home. Knowing how to betterhandle a situation is priceless and I can’t tell you all enough how much thisbook has influenced me!
This is one of those books that I feel is a MUST READ!
