Crimson Circle Studios Review and GiveawayCLOSED

Getting to know Stella (Crimson Circle Studios)
Where are you from? and a little bit about you

I was born in Adelaide, South Australia, to Greek immigrant parents. I have a background in Advertising/Graphic design, and currently freelance from a home base. In my spare time I love creating pieces for Crimson Circle Studios. I’ve had a lifelong passion for the visual arts, and have honed my digital skills through my career as a designer.

What items do you carry in your shop?

At present I stock note cards, prints, postcards, bookmarks, ACEOs

How did you decide on your shop name?

I chose the color crimson from my set of colored pencils. Crimson to me represents passion, fire, spirit, energy – all that goes into creating my pieces. I chose the circle as it represents continuity and infinity, as my work is constantly evolving. I chose studios (in plural) because I am a multi-disciplinary artist. One day a graphic designer, the next a visual artist. I can switch from digital media to traditional paper, scissors and glue.

Do you have anything new you plan on adding to your store?

I would love to create more handmade collage pieces and am looking at offering custom altered digital portraits.
Do you have a blog, twitter, or facebook page?

What or who inspires you?

I am drawn to collage art and assemblage art which use (mainly authentic) vintage imagery and ephemera, and am fascinated with altered art and journaling. I have also gained an appreciation of photography and jewelry making throughout my time on flickr.

What items in your shop do you most enjoy making and why?

I enjoy everything I make. Each piece has it’s own challenges and I obsessively work on it until it is just right!

Anything else you would like us to know?

I love roses! I use them in my work often. I also have a huge collection of fashion and interiors magazines (spanning 20 years), all in pristine condition. My husband has to drag me away from my laptop most times!

My Thoughts

I consider myself a crafty person. But, unfortunately my craftiness does not include drawing. There have been many times that I have seen something and sat down with a pencil and paper because I just wanted to capture the beauty. But when I start to draw I quickly am reminded that I am not good at it. Infact I can’t draw a stick figure let alone an actual person. Okay….. But, enough of that; let’s get to an artist that really can draw true beauty. Stella was kind enough to allow me three note cards to review.

The note cards were sent in a durable cardboard envelope and even with the long journey from Australia to the U.S. There was nothing harmed or bent.

When I opened the package I was taken aback by the beauty of the art as well as the graphic designs that were added to it. There are so many details in each of Stella’s pieces. It is very hard to describe and you truly have to see her work in real life to get the entire effect. I am going to try to describe her designs in the best way that I can, but please know that nothing I say will do her justice. Each of my review pieces contained a beautiful figure of a women, flowers, and faint writing. Normally I would say that is too much in one picture but with Stella’s Art that is not the case. Everything flows together perfectly and her art is simply stunning. There are so many different layers to her art and each layer is vital in telling the story of her piece. Stella’s Art is not the only thing that is stunning about the note cards. I am so very pleased with the quality of the cardstock as well. The paper is very durable and thick on the cards as well as with the envelopes. Simply wonderful!
