Etsy’s Feature Friday!

Where are you from? and a little bit about you

I am from Springfield, Massachusetts – I’ve lived in MA my whole life.

I am a mother of two young children, my son is 5 and my daughter will be 3 in a few months. I work part-time as a graphic designer, part-time on my purse business and am home with the kids the rest of the time. I have a wonderful husband who is very supportive in anything I do. I have always been into crafts, painting lessons growing up, decor around the house, painted the kids rooms with characters from Dr. Seuss and Nemo, and painted my living room window to look like stained glass (all before kids when I had free time! LOL).

What items do you carry in your shop?

I started with my purses then experimented with a couple of ribbon wreaths, that are quite cute I must say! And a scarf that I crocheted.

How did you decide on your shop name?

Some names come with easy nicknames, my name is Dana and somehow growing up my name was shortened and became Dae (Day). I have always loved creating things so Creations by Dae seemed to be any easy choice.

Do you have anything new you plan on adding to your store?

At the moment I am working on different size purses and OOAKs, I’d love to add some more wreaths with holiday themes. I’m sure something else will come into my mind and I’ll have to try it out (when I find the time)!

Do you have a blog, twitter, or facebook page?

I do have a facebook page at:

What is your inspiration when making a new item?

I love colors and textures, and it’s really hard to narrow them down with so much to choose from – I choose what moves me, I guess!

What items in your shop do you most enjoy making and why?

Everything… my purses look so different from when they are just a weaving then a purse – it’s such a great feeling to see the end result =) The wreaths are fun too!

What advice would you give to new artist?

I am still so new at all of this so I don’t have much advice. But I say ‘Go for it’ – everything! Somehow it’ll all work out and keep pushing yourself to experiment with new ideas.

Can you remember the first piece you ever made?

I do! I was a much smaller purse, but soooo cute – I had to make more. Then I got such great compliments and people asked if they could buy one from me =)

Anything else you would like us to know?

Please come and check out my stuff and spread the word =)
