Truvia Review and GiveawayCLOSED

About Truvia

Truvia is a natural sweetener, zero-calorie, with rebiana, which is part of the stevia leaf. Stevia is a plant native to portions of northeastern Paraguay, and has been used as a sweetener in foods for over 200 years. Truvia natural sweetener is also safe for diabetics, because it has no effect on the glycemic index.

My Thoughts

I love me some good ol’ sweet tea! But, here in Colorado it is hard to find sweet tea at restaurants. So, I have to sweeten my tea by myself and that usually means I grab the pink packet at the table! I know it is bad and I should not do that, but it is convenient.

At the beginning of the year I decided that I was going to make some major changes in my life and the type of sugar I ate was part of that new plan. I started to look for a healthier alternative to my pink packet and what I found was Truvia.

Before when I sweetened my tea I used 2-3 packets and with Truvia that has cut down to 1 packet per glass of tea. That is a big deal to me! Not only has my sweetener intake cut down but now the sweetener that I am using is much healthier than what I was using prior to Truvia. I also like it because I have been purchasing healthier cereal for the day care kids and they often complain that it don’t taste as good as the cereal they get at home. I have now started to add ¼ packet of Truvia to their cereal and the complaints are now over. They kids say that it makes their cereal taste good and I know that they are getting a lot less sugar than they were before.

I am impressed with how little Truvia I really need. I am also impressed that I can cook and bake with it and not have to worry about my diabetic friends. I had not known that Truvia did not affect the glycemic index of a diabetic and I am so happy to have learned that wonderful fact!

I love Truvia. It has become a staple in my home and I am so happy to have found that healthy sugar substitute that I was looking for!
