Simple Ghoulish Ghost Feet! – Easy Halloween Craft for Kids!

Posted on September 10, 2013 / By: Tammy 3 Comments

~Simple Ghoulish Ghost Feet! Easy Halloween Craft for Kids~ Here is a very fun Halloween Craft that you will want to do with your little goblins! We have been making these every year with my little goblins and have given some away for Halloween cards and we also keep them to watch the ghosts get bigger every year!  It's super cheap and completely entertaining for all!     All you need is ~ black construction paper black & white paint (non-toxic) paint brush towel   I always lay out a beach towel on the kitchen floor and put the black construction paper on a cutting board next to the towel. Have your little goblin sit on the towel and do one foot at a time - my kids find it to be ticklish so we always giggle and have a great time with this craft! I use the same towel for every craft so it's never a big deal if we get paint on it.   Once you have a foot completely covered in white paint, help them stand up and step down on the … [Read more...]

Home Crafting Ideas

Posted on August 29, 2013 / By: Krista 2 Comments

Home Crafting Ideas When you start thinking about decorating your home or making any repairs that you’ve been putting off for months, you start to wonder just how much it’s likely to cost. We’re all feeling the pinch since the economic downturn made us tighten our belts but some things we just have to spend the money on – our homes included.   Some renovations are particularly expensive, mainly because you have to get professionals in, such as having your chimney repainted or having gas fitted, while other tasks can be relatively inexpensive or done yourselves. A lot of the very best ideas come from the kind of crafts you can do by investing in a few materials and turning them into something really cool, like custom fabric window treatments that let you show your creative flair and passion for interior design. Creating your own photo frames could be something the whole family can get involved in. One person could cut the wood to the right size for the frame, using … [Read more...]

Creative Hands text-UR Foam Fibre-Craft Kits #review and #giveaway! Ends 9/6/13!

Posted on August 22, 2013 / By: Krista 17 Comments

Creative Hands text-UR Foam Fibre-Craft Kits   I am a hugely crafty person and I have passed on my passion for crafts to my daughter. We are always on the lookout for the latest and greatest crafts that we can do together. Recently I was introduced to a whole new level of crafts with Creative Hands text-UR Foam Fibre-Craft Kits. These craft kits include brightly colored textured foam that will allow you to create endless creatures, places and things! My daughter is huge into texture and was thrilled with these foam kits. She was able to create to her hearts content and she sat on the floor creating item after item for HOURS! I love how everything you make is so different based off the color and texture you use. Plus you can add 3-D elements to add even more fun and creativity! The kits are priced between $2.99 and $8,99 which I think is extremely impressive considering the endless possibilities and hours of craft time your kiddos will get out of each kit. I also … [Read more...]

Homemade Miracle Cure for Diaper Rash!

Posted on August 20, 2013 / By: Krista 16 Comments

Brandie's Homemade Miracle Cure for Diaper Rash! Having my first baby was the most amazing thing I had ever done in my life. I was in heaven, he was perfect! And then we went home. He would not nurse, he was crying nonstop and it seemed nothing could be done. Along with being colicky he developed horrible diaper rash. It would get so bad that his poor bum would bleed.  I tried Desitin and A&D ointment and Boudreaux Butt Paste and even milk of magnesia. Nothing seemed to work. I went to my pediatrician and she suggested mixing the Desitin, A&D ointment and milk of magnesia together to see what would happen. It was a miracle! I slathered it on as thick as I could and by the next diaper change I could see major improvement.  The key to mixing these three things is getting the right Desitin. The one in the purple tube has the highest amount of zinc oxide and that is what you want.  Just the normal tube of A&D works great and I always get the Philips brand of milk of … [Read more...]

Your Teaching Skills are ‘Popping’ – Teacher Gift

Posted on July 31, 2013 / By: Krista 4 Comments

Your Teaching Skills are 'Popping' - DIY Teacher Gift   This summer went so fast. Just a few short months ago she was excited for summer to start and now she is already back sitting in her desk! Crazy! This year my daughter wanted to start off the school year with some special DIY teacher gifts. Something that would let her teachers know just how much she appreciates them! As we walked around the store we came up with some fun ideas and cute sayings that we could pair with the different teacher gifts. One of them that she loved was "Your Teaching Skills are 'Popping." We decided that would be a perfect saying to put with a box of popcorn! So that is exactly what we did! The gift was cheap and easy to put together. Just purchase a box of popcorn, print out a label with the catchy saying and tie a ribbon around the box with the saying!   See how cute it turned out?!?!   Since we purchased 'Pop Secret' popcorn we even added "It's no 'secret' that you … [Read more...]

Have A Baaa-rilliant Day With A Sheep Themed Birthday!

Posted on July 25, 2013 / By: Tammy 17 Comments

Where does the time go?! My son just turned 8 years old and for over a year he has been completely obsessed with anything to do with sheep! If we are walking in the store and pass by something that has a sheep on it, he will literally run to it and adore that item. It's been actually a little over the top and sometimes embarrassing when your almost 8 year old son darts into the baby section and grabs the stuffed baby lambs! But you know what? I understand that most boys this age would be into more "popular" characters and desire their 8th birthday to be an action hero themed day but my son was born unique and if it's sheep he loves then it's a sheep themed party we shall give! He loves to plan what his cakes are for his birthdays and lucky for him, I happen to love to bake cakes so I can just about attempt anything for him...I said attempt, not execute mind you! His obsession with sheep turned into a dream of having sheep cupcakes. Vanilla sheep cupcakes to be exact. (keep … [Read more...]

Back to School Teacher Gifts – Your Teaching Skills are on Fire! #backtoschool

Posted on July 24, 2013 / By: Krista 3 Comments

Back to School Teacher Gifts Your Teaching Skills are on Fire! Can you believe it's back to school time already? Ok so I know that many of you might not be thinking 'school' right now. But, for some of us school is already back in session and going strong. One thing I like to do with my daughter is make something special for her teachers when she goes back to school. Something that will let them know just how appreciated they are and something to help them take some of the back to school stress away. This year one of the gifts my daughter wanted to make is a jar filled with Hot Tamales. We even came up with a cute slogan that we taped to the jar to dress it all up a little. These cute little gifts were very easy to make. All I needed was some small jars, red ribbon, Hot Tamales candy, tape and paper to print the label on. We filled each jar with the Hot Tamale candy, tied on the ribbon and then created a printable label which we taped on the jars. Nice and … [Read more...]

So ‘Lucky’ to have had you for my teacher – Cheap and Easy Teacher Gift!

Posted on May 30, 2013 / By: Krista 3 Comments

So 'Lucky' to have had you for my teacher - Cheap and Easy Teacher Gift Tomorrow is the last day of school for the kiddo's here. I can't believe how fast this year went. It seems like just yesterday I was shopping for school supplies and my daughter was getting ready to meet her 2nd grade teacher. With the end of the year being tomorrow I have been trying to figure out some cute teacher gifts for my daughter to hand out tomorrow. This here is a gift that I actually made some of the Primary Teachers at church but I thought that these adorable gifts could double as teacher gifts as well!   All I did to make these gifts was: 1.  Purchase the size of Lucky Charms that you will want to use. I purchased the big boxes but I know that the single serving boxes will work as well. 2. Wrap part of the box in any wrapping paper you like. I made sure to have the 'Lucky Charms' part showing so that the little saying on the card could make sense. 3. Next I made a … [Read more...]
