My Thoughts on Bratz
I have never allowed my daughter to play with Bratz dolls or even have anything that resembles Bratz. But I decided I better not judge a book by its cover. In other words I had never even seen the cartoon so I thought I’d better give it a chance.
Movie:
Pros- I really enjoyed the story behind this movie. It is neat that they are teaching the children about animals and they want to do something to help all of the animals that have no home. The girls teamed up to help out a stranger and save some animals in the process. I was also surprised that some of them gave up a trip to the spa to help. The extra characters in the movie were fun and I really liked the story line behind the cartoon. I actually found myself wanting to know what was going to happen.
Cons- I am disappointed by the materialism in this movie. Within the first five minutes the girls were talking about going to the spa and getting manicures. Not something I want my daughter to focus on as she is growing up. I also did not like the immodest clothing as well as all of the facial makeup on the girls. These are not the role models I would like for my child.
