Getting to know (NoKitschProject)
What items do you carry in your shop?Currently I carry a big collection of cross stitched earrings, and only recently launched a section ‘sea inspirations’ which contains jewelry made of beach debris
How did you decide on your shop name?
Everyone has their own definition of kitsch, feel invited to visit my blog if you want to know mine. To keep it short and sweet – I try to keep my work as free of kitsch as I can manage. Hence the name.
Do you have anything new you plan on adding to your store?
I’m planning on expanding my Sea Inspirations line. Another big plan is to add sitched necklaces to cross stitched earrings.
Do you have a blog, twitter, or facebook page?I have a blog – http://www.nokitschproject.blogspot.com/. Don’t do Facebook etc.
What is your inspiration when making a new item?
I’m trying to be observant of life, to notice as many details as possible. And if I see an interesting pattern, I think about transferring it onto canvas and turning into a pair of earrings. Usually works! 🙂
What items in your shop do you most enjoy making and why?
The earrings are still my favourites, maybe because I tend to fall into dream-like state when doing anything precise and repetitive. So when stitching I can switch myself off and travel far, far away.
Anything else you would like us to know?
There, that’s it. I kept it short – I would probably write a book here if given free rein 🙂
