Pass Out More Then Just Candy This Halloween!
This year instead of passing out plain ol’ candy I have decided to change things up a bit. Thanks to Oriental Trading Company I was able to score some amazing toys, crafts and fun candy for the kids to enjoy! I can’t wait to see the looks on the trick or treaters faces this year as they are handed fun candy and a few toys! This year we will also be having a huge Halloween party at church and I decided to host a fishing game booth…of course all of my fishing game prizes came from Oriental trading. I can’t wait!
I have read a lot of reader comments on previous posts recently telling me that they want new ideas for passing out at Halloween instead of candy. With so many food allergies and such it is hard to make sure you have something for everyone. That is where Oriental Trading Company comes in…check out a few of my favorite alternatives to substitute for or to go along with candy!
#1. Little toys are always great. This year I opted for fun toys like Yo Yo’s, Spy Glasses, Glow in the Dark Spider rings, Sticky animals, and finger puppets. These are all little toys that children will love to play with!
#2. My daughter is a crafter…as are most children. They have a creative side and they are just looking for fun ideas to make. That is why I opted for some fun crafts like photo frames to color, paper pumpkins and make your own skeletons!
#3. Of course candy is the #1 thing that is handed out on Halloween. But one thing I have noticed is that the price skyrockets every single year! Plus the kids are handed the same candy at every home. So this year I opted for treats that are different and things that are hopefully better for those with allergies. That is why I opted for Crayola Taffy that will dye their mouth fun colors, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle lollipops, Cinnamon Bats and monster pops! I’m sure that not everyone in my neighborhood will be passing out these fun treats this year!
It is not just passing out candy to trick or treaters that makes Oriental Trading great. Oriental Trading Company is my “go-to” for almost anything. For years I have stocked up on little gifts for loved ones, costumes for my daughter, party supplies and more. I remember even making a large order from Oriental Trading Company to help decorate my wedding! It was cheap and everything turned out awesome!
We usually have a combination of treats for our visitors, but since we live int he middle of no where, we don’t get many. So the ones that do show, get a bunch! 🙂
My kids love spider rings! What a fun house you must be to trick or treat at.
What fun idea! Way to be a unique stop for Halloween. The kids get enough candy at the other houses anyway. Love it.
I think it’s definitely a great idea to pass out more than just candy. It makes it fun for the kids when they’re sorting it out, isn’t it?

Great idea. While I loved the houses that had awesome candy, it was also a lot of fun to compare the fun non-candy items we all got and see who scored the best one. – Katy
I know my kids love these things just as much s candy, how much candy can you really eat.
Oriental Trading is awesome for party favors too. Those glow in the dark spider rings are cool!
We do not celebrate halloween but those look like items that kids may enjoy, like the idea of the non candy items too.
We like to do a combination. They love the sticky things that stick to the walls.
It might be too late this year, but I’m totally taking your advice. Next year I’m going to pass out fun things like that!

I think this is so important. It doesn’t have to be about candy
My daughter will grab the little toys and gadgets just as often as she will grab toys. But then again, if she had the option for a ninja turtle lollypops she’d take that
