Pollution is not only an abstract, distant problem seen in belching smokestacks and contaminated waterways, it’s also personal. Some of the most dangerous pollutants, it turns out, come from commonplace items in our homes and workplaces- shampoos and toothpastes, carpets and children’s toys.
What a scary concept. There are so many things around us that are causing pollution in our bodies. Items that we would not even think about such as lotion and shampoo. There are many items that I will now know to keep myself as well as the children away from. I was very enthused with this book. Okay so I am also scared out of my mind at some of the stuff that I was reading. I have never stopped to think about the ingredients in my lotion or what is happening to my fruit when I place it in a plastic bag at the store. You will be amazed at the chemicals that you are eating and absorbing through your skin on a day to day basis!
