Each year around Back to School time I get lots of e-mails from many of you asking me how to save money on school supplies. Well you all know that I post as much as I can to help you all save big! But, this year I am also excited to say that I can also SHOW you how much you can save!

Thanks to GutzyGear and Madam Deals I was able to spend $25 to go towards a local school in need. I love Paying it Forward and I knew that I would be able to score lots of great school supplies for just $25 the hardest part was actually finding a school who I felt was the most in need.

Recently my Mother in Law was hired on to a new school. She went from working in a Middle School to a pre-school that caters to the disabled children and has many preschoolers that are blind. When she called and starting telling me about the need that her new school had for not only school supplies for the children but also items for the teachers I knew that her school would be my pick.

The first thing that I knew I needed to purchase was a backpack. I needed something to donate that a child in need would be able to use to carry their school supplies.

The backpack that I decided on purchasing is filled with lots of color but also glitter and fun stuff that the blind children can feel. It is also on wheels to help the children navigate the backpack if needed!

This backpack was originally $36 at Sears. BUT, By using my Shop your Way Rewards card AND a 20% off Online coupon code. I was able to have this backpack shipped to my house for FREE for a total of $8.80! That was a HUGE savings of $27.20!

 

 

The next thing I needed was supplies and I knew exactly where I was going to go! Office Depot? Why? Because they have amazing weekly deals and coupon codes that can score you school and office supplies for as low as $0.01 each!

At Office Depot I decided that since my small town sells out of all this stuff very fast that I would do my shopping online for this as well. I knew that I could have it shipped to the store for FREE So why not?
