Eating Healthy Can Be Easy!
As my pregnancy progresses I am focusing more and more on the foods I am putting into my body. I want to make sure I give this little girl the best start I possibly can in life so I am trying to eat a healthy diet every day. This is not an easy feat because I am learning that some of the foods I thought were healthy and ok for me are really not. I am also learning what foods make me feel energized and ready to tackle the day vs. the foods that make me feel sluggish and sleepy all day. It is really true that you are what you eat and I want to be happy, energized, and have a clear mind each day.
Did you know that there is a great website that will help you know if what you are eating is really good for you or not? It is called http://www.foodfacts.com/. I have been visiting this site more and more the last few days and I have been surprised with everything that I have found. I can look up the foods that I am eating or planning to eat and get a letter grade for each item. There is even a place to look up baby foods and restaurant meals. It is nice to see that I am putting all A’s and B’s into my body instead of C’s and D’s or even F’s! It has helped me be more focused on what I am eating because at the end of the day I want to know that I did my best. Plus it helps break down my foods to help me know what is REALLY in them.
I love being able to still eat what I like but being able to do it in a better for me way. If I am craving pasta it’s ok….I just need to find a pasta with an A ranking instead of a D. It’s that simple. This site has helped me with my shopping lists and helped me to know what is really better vs. what’s not. I love eating healthier and knowing that I am feeding my family better foods!
