Donate To Help Those Stuck in Human Trafficking
Thanksgiving is just around the corner and this year I am so thankful for my family. I am also thankful that I get to help raise awareness for something that is awful. Something that takes place every single day. Something that is every mother’s worst nightmare….human trafficking. Although I wish that there was not a need to raise awareness for this…I also know that this is something that happens each and every day. Something that these precious children have to live through and deal with. But on the up side I also have a way for you to help! Human Trafficking is known around the world but especially in the Dominican Republic.
Family Christian Stores has partnered with Destiny Rescue to help stop human trafficking. With your help they hope to reach a goal of $150,000 to donate to helping those in need. By shopping at Family Christian Stores from Nov. 22-30 you will be helping to support those who need your help. Did you know that up to 27 million children of God are enslaved into human trafficking. Those Men, Women and Children need our help.
Destiny Roots is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to rescuing those stuck in human trafficking. They are currently in 5 nations including Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar (Burma) and India. With your help they would like to extend their reach to the Dominican Republic.
Why the Dominican Republic? Check out some of these facts I got from the Family Christian Website:
Here is why we’re focusing our efforts in the Dominican Republic:
- Every month, 800 Haitian children are trafficked into the Dominican Republic
- Country is ranked 4th in the world for exportation of women into the sex trade
- Large numbers of Dominican women and children are subject to sex trafficking
- Country has the highest rate of human trafficking in the Caribbean.
So don’t forget to shop at Family Christian Stores November 22-30 or donate to the cause today!
That’s so sad. It’s scary to think your child could just be kidnapped and sent into trafficking so easily. The thought kills me.
My daughter’s friend did a research paper on this subject. It’s terrible how close this can be to home!
This just makes me sick. No one should be sold like objects.
That is just so terrible. It’s so hard to imagine that things like this happen all the time.
This subject just sickens me. It’s almost unimaginable what people can do for money.
This is a great cause to donate too
This just makes me sick just thinking about this. No one should have to go through this.
Its horrible what goes on in the world, even right in our own cities and towns. I`d hate to think of tht happening to kids – they just don;t deserve it!
