Women’s Fashion Eyeglasses: How to Select the Best Pair
When many of us envision the most striking features of any face, the eyes are likely to be the first and most important feature. So, it only makes sense that the type of womens glasses which we prefer will leave a lasting impression upon those around us. Selecting the correct glasses, frames and overall fit can very much “make or break” our visual appeal. Unfortunately, this can often be a bit difficult to accomplish. It is for this reason that we will take a look at a handful of sure-fire tips to ensure that your glasses will accentuate your look and personality.
The Importance of Colour
Everyday, we employ the use of colour to enhance our natural features. For instance, a dark eyeliner and lipstick will serve to highlight brighter eyes. The very same can be said for your glasses. It is a good rule of thumb to utilise darker colours on your glasses frames to compliment lighter eyes. Naturally, the opposite holds true for darker eyes. Light or pastel frames will provide an excellent contrast and bring attention to these important features.
A Central Appeal
This is actually one of the lesser-known tips in existence. Attractiveness is subconsciously defined by perceived symmetry. In other words, your eyes should be centred within the glasses themselves. Unfortunately, you may not always be able to determine this beforehand (if, for example, you purchase your glasses direct from an online retailer). If you find that they are hanging low or otherwise drifting, it is a good idea to visit an optician. He or she can provide a custom nose pad that will allow your glasses to remain stable.
A Frame Within a Frame
A better way to express this is to remember that all womens glasses should normally fit within the confines of your face. Otherwise, they can appear overpowering, clumsy and even a throwback from the 1980s. Still, this will partially depend upon your features. If you have a particularly small and “dainty” face, these glasses frames will detract from your natural look. If you are unsure which frame and size may provide the best fit, be sure to bring a friend along when shopping; an objective opinion is always quite valuable.
Enticing Eyebrows
Another overlooked trick is to use the line of our eyebrows to guide the upper frames. As your eyes are specifically defined by the thickness and the shape of their brows, the glasses should intend to accomplish the same feature. While you not may be able to match their exact contour, following the natural line as closely as possible will enable the glasses to appear quite “natural” within your complexion. Recall that if you are unable to find an exact match, you can always slightly trim your eyebrows to minimise for any noticeable discrepancy.
Your Contours
As we have just mentioned the contours of your eyebrows, note that the curves of your face are just as important. However, it is a fallacy that the frames should match these facial shapes. Sharp features should be offset by a softer appearance within the frames. If you feel that you have a rather curvaceous structure, an angular frame is the best choice. Still, do not confuse this tip with matching the overall “frame” of your face; this only applies to your distinct features.
Remember that if you choose to buy glasses direct from an online shop, you may not be able to determine the exact “look” that they will provide beforehand. Still, these tips and hints can provide you with the insight to make the most educated choices.

Great tips! I need to find a new pair of glasses. I’m not loving the ones I wear anymore.
My teenage son insists he wants glasses to look more fashionable…I totally did not realize that glasses are now a fashion statement! I just need mine to see!
The eyebrow tip is a really good one. Often glasses can look so doofy on people, including me. I am really picky about how they look on my face and I know others are too. Would love to see a pic showing the outcome of these tips!
my husband wears glasses, thanks
Great tips! Frames and eyebrows plus face shape makes a huge impact on your frame decision.
