If you are a parent then you have probably said the words “Don’t Slam The Door,” a time or two. That is exactly what the mother of this little boy says in the book SLAM! A Tale of Consequences by Adam Stower. Recently thanks to Owl Kids I was sent a copy of this book for the purpose of this review.
I love childrens books and I love to read the creative story telling of each author. I can honestly say that Adam Stower’s book is extremely creative and unlike any childrens story book that I have ever read. In his book it is not so much about the story that you can read…but more about the stunning illustrations that tell the whole story for you.
In this story your child will be able to sound out tons of different onomatopoeic words and will love matching up each illustration with the last and looking to find every last detail. I must say that I honestly laughed out loud while reading this book the first time…even though I was in the car reading this book by myself!
About The Book
A boy heads to the store with his dog to buy some candy. On his way out, the door slams behind him.
Oops.
What starts off innocently builds into a contagious, calamitous cacophony of crashing cars, flopping fish, wobbly workers, not to mention dogs, cats, rockets, kites, lions, clowns, ice cream, dragons and….aliens?
