It’s About Time by Pascale Estellon
Thanks to Owl Kids I was sent a copy of It’s About Time for the purpose of this review. As most of you know I have decided to take that step into home schooling. It is important to me for my child to have the best education possible and luckily I don’t have to do it alone.
I have always been an advocate for my daughters education. I have always encouraged her to play with toys, read books and watch t.v. shows that were educational. Thanks to It’s About Time by Pascale Estellon I now have a new book to add to the collection. In It’s About Time your children will not only learn about time. But, they will also experience hands on activities and games that include you. For example my favorite part of the book is when the kids are learning about how long an hour is….you actually will get to read a recipe and bake a cake with your kiddo’s to teach them how long an hour is and how much you can get done in that time frame. I love books that have hands on approaches to teaching kids.
On The Back
It’s about time! Finally, a book that explains, in an easy-to-understand format, this notoriously difficult concept for children to grasp:TIME.
What is a second? What is an hour? What is a century? Narrators Jacob and Lily break down all of this and more. By the time kids reach the final page of this step-by-step guide, they will have a full understanding of time and its many configurations: the days of the week, the months of the year, how to read a clock, the difference between a.m. and p.m. – and even reading ordinal numbers on a calendar.
Kids will wonder what all the fuss was about as this challenging subject is easily untangled for them one concept at a time.
