Glitter Grapes
With school back in session have have been racking my brain trying to come up with new ideas for my daughters school lunches. My goal is to pack healthy lunches for my daughter but also add a variety of great tasting foods that she will love to eat while she is away.
One of the snacks I have been making here recently is Glitter Grapes. Well this is the name that my daughter has given to her new favorite snack ‘Jello Grapes’.
I had never heard of adding Jello to grapes before but one of my friends told me about it and so we decided to give it a try!
Glitter Grapes are very easy to make! Just take 1b of grapes, remove them from the stem and wash thoroughly. Once grapes are washed place them on paper towel to help remove excess water. As grapes are slightly drying on paper towel you can empty a box of dry Jello mix into a bowl. The Jello can be an flavor you choose. My daughter wanted Peach Jello for this recipe.
Once the dry Jello mix is in a bowl you can start to take each grape and roll them into the mixture. You will want the grapes to be slightly damp so the Jello will stick. I did try to add the Jello mixture to a bag and shake the grapes in it…..but I noticed that the Jello seamed to bunch up in the bag and many of the grapes were not coated. When rolling them by hand it is easy to do a quick roll and then I know that each grape is fully coated.
Once all the grapes are coated with Jello you can put them into a freezer safe container and freeze! The grapes will be ready to eat in about 2 hours!
These grapes are amazing and it is easy to throw some of them into a baggie for my daughters lunches! Yum!
What kind of Jello would you want on your Glitter Grapes?
THIS SOUNDS DELISIOUS!!!
How interesting! I’ll have to try it!

I’m still fond of the melon fusion Jell-O. I’ve tried other varieties, but keep coming back to this one!
I have been trying to get me niece to eat frozen grapes for a month, it used to be my favorite snack as a kid, but she keeps telling me it’s ‘strange.’ Haha, I bet this would do the trick, I’d try blue raspberry or pink lemonade.
I need to try this!!! Sounds so yummy!
What a brilliant idea! I never knew it was so easy to make glitter grapes. I’d be thrilled if you’d come on over to Pink Recipe Box and link up at Creative Wednesdays: http://pinkrecipebox.com/creative-wednesdays-with-pink-recipe-box-5/
Thanks! I will start linking up on Wednesdays!!
But…this is only healthy if it’s a substitute for candy, if it’s taking the place of something with sugar and food coloring but less/no nutrition that you’d otherwise put in the lunchbox.
My son loves grapes. I know he would like these. The trouble is, if we made these, he wouldn’t think plain grapes are “sweet enough” or “fun enough” anymore and would want these instead–ADDING sugar and food coloring to his diet.
I think these would be a great idea for kids who aren’t willing to eat plain grapes, though!
Clever idea for a different snack. Gonna try this.
What a fun treat!
YUM!!! I’m going to have to try these 🙂 I would love it if you stopped by and linked it up over at my link party, Random Recipe Link-Up

My mom told me about freezing grapes and how refreshing they were on a hot day, but I hadn’t seen doing them with Jello before- cool idea!
What a cute idea. My kids would get a big kick out of those.
This is interesting – I’ve never heard of this! I’ll definitely have to give it a try! Looks like so much fun and my kids would love it!
These look like a cute party snack. I just picked up some grapes on sale, so I’m going to try this.
Amazing! I’ve never heard of this before! I have green grapes and orange jello so I’m going to try this right now!
this looks great. just wonder if it takes the ‘healthiness’ away??
I am not sure what flavor I would try. I think only if I bought sour grapes I would try this so they would not go to waste.
Wow, I had no idea that you use jello to make the “glitter” aspect. Looks really cool to me! My kiddos would LOVE this so much!
This sounds so yummy! What a great snack! My kids will love this!
Forget the kids i want this as a snack! LOL This looks like a snack my kids would love.
This sounds delicious. Definitely something for me to try out with the kids.
Never heard of this before! It looks yummy! Frozen grapes and jello…sign me up!
While I have heard of frozen grapes in the past, I’ve never tried them. Definitely want to try them now!
I’ve done this with dye-free gelatin and pineapple. It’s a fun way to go dye-free, and it tastes great!
I think I’d have to try it in every flavor to find out which was my favorite. It looks tasty!
My kids would love these!
What a great idea – I will definitely be giving this a try!
I have to try these with my kids. I am curious about the,
We sent frozen grapes on the first day of school since it was so hot, but they still got mushy! I love the glitter!
Glitter grapes! How wonderful. I can imagine my daughters would name them something very similar. We’re definitely going to try these 🙂
Ooh! This looks interesting! But would the jello mix have them in a little sugar rush of some sort?
This is a cute idea. sounds like a tasty treat.
wow ok I really like this and we love grapes BUT I would never have thought of this Good idea
These are so cool. My son would love these!
Looks great- also looks like a good way to encourage kids to eat more fruit!

This is an interesting treat, I can’t wait to give it a try. Thank you for sharing this recipe.
What a great idea! I’ve got to try this for sure! 🙂
These look good. I used to go get jello boxes and hid them in my room and eat them when I was about 5. Ah , the memories!
