I grew up listening to country music. Chris LeDoux, Garth Brooks, George Strait, Alabama etc….they were always on the radio or t.v. when I was a child. As I grew to be a little older my parents started taking my brothers and I to all the country music concerts in our area. By the time I was 18 I has seen Andy Griggs, Chris LeDoux, George Strait, Lone Star, Pam Tillis, Doug Supernaw, Diamond Rio, Neal McCoy, Brian White, Chely Wright and many, many more singers in concert.
As my daughter is getting older she has taken on a love for country music. Is always seems to have her MP3 player turned on and blasting away with her favorite music.
Recently my husband and I decided that our daughter was old enough to attend her first country music concert. She was so excited! We were able to take her to Collin Raye during our fair this year. As we were waiting for the concert to get started I could see that he was behind the stage signing autographs. My daughter wanted to meet him in person so bad….so I decided to walk around the stage and see if they would let her in. As I was walking I noticed signs saying that you had to have a ticket to get into the autograph line. We did not have a ticket so I let my daughter know that she probably would not be able to meet him….but my daughter who is the least shy child in the world marched right up to the fair worker and asked what she needed to do to get a ticket. She told the lady that she would do ANYTHING!
The lady was kind to her but let her know that she did not know what my daughter could do…so my daughter turned to me and asked me if she could go ask another lady. Just as my daughter was asking me a second fair worker came up to my daughter and handed her a ticket and told her to hand it back to him and then she could meet Collin Raye. My daughter was GLOWING!
This was her first meet and greet and Collin Raye was so sweet to her. He talked with her for a little while, posed for pictures, signed her cowboy hat, shook my hand and spoke with me, posed for more pictures and even gave her a kiss on the cheek…twice!! Her eyes got huge both times he kissed her cheek! It was truly an experience that she will never forget!
I can also honestly say that he gave one of the best concerts I have ever been to. He was right up there with Chris LeDoux which is saying A LOT because Chris never gave a bad concert! …..I think my daughter is now hooked and I can’t wait to take her to a few more concerts we will be having his year! Maybe we can even get a few more signatures on that cowboy hat of hers!
We like going to country concerts too! We just went to Randy Houser at the CO state fair, we go every year there! Last year we saw Chris Young there. Its a great time, I like that with country its a little more family friendly.
Your little girl looks so cute!
Too cute! I discovered country music later so this is precious!
