My Thoughts on Chicken Soup for the Soul: Parenthood
The greatest gift I could ever receive is the gift from a child. All I ever wanted to be as a child was a Mother. There is something so special about waking up to a smiley face of a child each day and being the one they turn to for comfort in times of happiness and pain. I would not trade it for the world.
Thanks to Chicken Soup for the Soul I was sent a copy of their book Parenthood for the purpose of this review. This book is about raising children and the joys it can bring to your life. There are amazing stories from all different years in a child’s life. It is so much fun to learn and grow with children.
My daughter is almost 8 years old. There is a lot I have not experienced with children yet but then again there is a lot I have experienced. As a parent you will love to laugh along with over 100 fun loving stories from other parents just like you.
On The Back
This upbeat and heartwarming book will entertain and inspire parents of all ages, raising children from birth to college and beyond. The common thread that connects these 101 stories is made of caring, humor, hard work, and joy. Older parents will laugh a lot, tear up a little, and nod their heads in agreement as they recognize shared experiences shaping young lives. New parents will smile as they read about the adventures yet to come.
What a wonderful gift for a parent, with 14 amusing cartoons included, and chapters about:

our grandson is 4 and he is going to be a big brother in june…..I asked him what his baby brother’s name is going to be and he said ‘Justin Bieber’ oh my gosh I laughed…he is the cutest!
When our son was about three, he threw up for the first time and called it ” the big sneeze”.
my daughter is so sweet if her big sis even leaves for a hr we have to go get her. she is 3 and her sis is 5. she says things like ” i love her” and “maybe she will give me a hug “
My youngest just lost a tooth, shes so cute and goofy looking. Her note to the tooth failry asked for 8 dollars (she is saving up for a toy and that was the remaining amount), her big sister told her to write cha-ching on it. She did.
One of the cute stories that I tell is she started Kindergarten this year. Early in the year, she came home saying “Mama, I lost a penny today!” And I asked ‘what for’? She quipped “I pushed a boy.” Whyyyyyyy? “Because he was in the way!”
My husband is our stay home daddy! We have four children ages 6, 5, 21 months and 2 weeks old.

GIVE THEM SOME LOVE
I am trying to put my 4 year old to bed as I am typing this and very quickly I am losing my patience. Every single delay tactic he can possibly think of is being used. However, even though I do tend to get upset with him once in a while I also remind myself of how many people do not get that chance to say good night to their kids because of some horrible tragedy.
Watching your kid’s while they are playing and using their imaginations.
I like to see my grandchildren play together. When they think you aren’t looking they will get into some of the darndest things!! I have had cheerio’s all over the floor before.
Hmm, I have a few different ones with my 13 month old son. One time we were at a movie store and told he picked up a toy. I told him, “I’m sorry but we can’t afford it.” He replied with “G’,ma, G’maa (his word for grandma ) and pointed at her. I said no honey you have enough things. But I thought it was cute, he was trying to ask her.
Another time, my mom just came home from work. My son heard her arrive and wanted to go upstairs. He hugged her leg and wouldn’t let go. my son is a hugger~ once we were out and he tried to give random toddler hugs. Of course not all toddlers were used to have a random stranger, even another toddler come over and give them hugs. I’m glad he is affectionate, at the same time, it is something we need to be cautious about.
