The Gruffalo’s Child Book and Movie Review and Giveaway!

Posted on August 15, 2012 / By: Krista 33 Comments

My Thoughts on The Gruffalo’s Child

I am sure that most of you have heard of the amazing book The Gruffalo. But, did you know that there is a new one written by Julia Donaldson titled ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’? I was thrilled when I first seen this book and could not wait to read it with my little girl.

The Gruffalo’s Child takes place in the forest and is a wonderful tale about The Gruffalo’s child and her search for ‘The Big Bad Mouse’. This is a story that her Father tells her to keep her safe and from going out in the woods alone. As most of you know when you tell a child a story like that it usually does not scare them away….but instead makes them want to go on an adventure to find said creature. That is exactly what The Gruffalo’s Child did as soon as her father fell asleep!

During the search The Gruffalo’s Child comes across many fun animals but none as BIG as the mouse that she is so excited to find. Will she be able to find this Huge creature her Father has warned her about? You will have to read (or watch) to find out!

– After reading the wonderful book my daughter and I decided to watch the movie together! It is not often I get a book and movie together so it was double the fun! I loved the illustrations by Axel Scheffler as well as this beautifully written story by Julia Donaldson! Yet another hit book for this wonderful author!

On the Back

“I Don’t Believe In The Big Bad Mouse…”

One night, the Gruffalo’s child wanders into the woods to search for the Big Bad Mouse. Instead, she comes upon a small mosue in the woods…and decides to eat him! But wait, what is that? A shadow of a very large, scary creature falls on the ground, and suddenly the Gruffalo’s child is frightened. Could it be the Big Bad Mouse after all?
