Getting to know newcreationz
Where are you from? and a little bit about youI am originally from Cape Town, South Africa but havelived in New Zealand for the past 13 years.. My family and I live in a coastaltown where I enjoy walks on the beach and taking in the amazing scenry that NewZelaand has to offer. I have three children 19, 17 and 11yrs, the oldest ofwhich has recently left our ‘nest’ to go and study in the South Island ofNZ so I am adjusting to that! I work part time as a teachers aide for specialneeds children. The rest of my time is spent creating or spending time with myfamily.
What items do you carry in your shop?
My shop is filled with all things art and photography. Mytwo passions are painting and photography and I try to find as many practicalways to use them! Hence the wide variety of items like magnets, coasters,stationery, cards and jewelry, besides the original art and photo prints.How did you decide on your shop name?
Well, first of all, I think itis an amazing gift and privilege to be able to create. (I believe everyone hasthis gift within them). And since I am a new creation myself and amalways coming up with new creations, I thought I would make it myshop name. And ofcourse the NZ at the end is because…. you guessed it….I amfrom New Zealand!
Do you have anything new you plan on adding to your store?there is never a moment when i am not thinking of newthings I can add to my shop. I have very recently added a new rangeof photo jewelry to my shop which I am totaly excited about! Next in line,I am thinking of working more on my stationery products. At the moment I sellmainly digital sets which I email out to customers but I am hoping to puttogether pretty little packs for gift giving too.

What is your inspiration when making a new item?
Living in New Zealand is aninspiration in itself. Just looking around at the amazing scenery fills me withall sorts of creative ideas. Very seldom will you see me out and about withouta camera in hand! My paintings are of a contemprary style – you willfind many of the colors that surround me, reflected in my work. My faith isalso a huge inspiration – I see God all around me and He is my motivation.
What items in your shopdo you most enjoy making and why? I think it has to be my paintings. I lovedoing really large works but am restricted to selling these onlinedue to high shipping costs. I love the process of starting a painting with avague idea and letting it sweep me along as I go. The fun part is that peopletend to see different things in my paintings to what I see. That is veryrewarding for me. However there are no products in my shop that I don’t enjoymaking. If that was so I would not make them!
