Born in Seattle, and raised in Michigan, I have lived in 6 states and have thefeet and the luggage of a gypsy! One favorite bag stays partially packed yearround! I have 3 college degrees, beginning in Soils and ending with StudioArts. I love animals, my friends, and my extended, large family, notnecessarily in that order. I enjoy good a conversation, silly laughter, traveling anywhere, being at home, old rock n roll, and digging in my garden.
What items do you carry in yourshop?
I carry my handmade beads, of course, and the jewelry that I construct usingthem. Once in a while I add some supplies, when I have extra.
How did you decide on your shopname?
Well, my last name is Lee and I make beads so…
I am currently expanding my work to include metal work. I am excited to extendmy range of skills in jewelry crafting. I also love to take photographs and Iam considering adding photos to the shop this year.

What is your inspiration when makinga new item?If I am working on a commission, I try to find out all I can about the personand their likes before I begin. Generally, I grab a group of glass colors thatinspire my imagination, and work with them for an entire session, because Iprimarily create sets. Otherwise, I prefer to go where the flame and the momenttakes me. Sometimes the coolest and most creative things come from theunconscious!

What items in your shop do you mostenjoy making and why?Making beads is the heart of what I do. I love to experience the pure zenmoments that come from staring into the flame. I once told a fellow beadmakerthat I found the flame and the movement of molten glass to be purely sensual. Ithink he got a little nervous then, but it is true — making the perfect beadsis a passionate experience for me.
I am blessed in my craft to have the support and encouragement of those wholove me. I am fortunate to have been gifted with creative insight and theability to translate it into an artform. From time to time people validate myefforts with their purchases, and for that I am entirely grateful.
