MyThoughts on Kathryn the Grape
byKathryn Cloward and Jody Duhamel
Childrenare special and Magical. That is the point that is made in Kathrynthe Grape! Kathryn goes around with her friend Maggie and her magicwand. She realizes all of the good that she can accomplish and shedoes just that. Kathryn has a positive outlook on life and by the endof the book she realizes that it is her that carries the Magic. It isher that makes her own destiny and her life choices. I love thatKathryn the Grape teaches children that they all have a little magicinside of them. We are all special in our own way.
Ihave read Kathryn the Grape with all of the day care kids and theyenjoyed it. The pictures are colorful and the story kept theirattention. I don’t know if the younger ones got the whole point ofthe story but I know that the 5+ children did. My daugher has startedgoing around the house with her “magic wand” that can only beused for good….just like Kathryn’s.
Ifound this book to be uplifting and a positive influence on children.Who does not want to read a book that helps them to realize they aremagical just the way they are! No need to change for anyone! What awonderful concept that more people in life need to hear!
