Christmas Story & Art Lessons!
Too often Christmas time is taken away from the true meaning. It is important to remember why we celebrate Christmas. See The Light: The Gift of Love does just that. By using artwork of Mary and Joseph traveling from Inn to Inn, Jesus Birth in the Stable, The Angel appearing, and the wise men and gifts of Love. Each amazing part of the birth of Jesus is depicted in artwork. There is also soft music playing in the background as the story is told and I found the kids very interested in this movie. Even the little ones that have not heard the story of the birth of Christ.When I first heard of this movie I knew it would be a perfect fit for my family. I love anything that will tell about the life of Jesus and the story not only tells about Jesus but also how we should be full of Love during this time of year.
The case to the movie contains one of the beautiful artworks of Heidi Shorts of the Angel announcing the birth of Christ. I love watching her draw these stunning chalk pictures as the story is being told…but there is more! At the end of the movie you can watch Heidi’s lessons on how to draw three of the images seen in the movie. This is a creative feature I have never seen before and since my daughter is a little artist I knew this would capture her attention. Right after the movie we clicked on how to draw a ‘Rejoice’ picture and my daughter gathered up her art supplies. She watched enthusiastically as Heidi drew each line. The steps were easy for a child to follow and my little girl was very proud of her artwork at the end. She now wants to show off her “Jesus’ Birthday Pictures” to everyone!
I would most defiantly spend my money on this video. I would love to find more movies like this that depict the bible in a way that I know the children will enjoy and fully understand! This movie really is a five star rating! Absolutely enjoyable!
