Getting to know FantastiCrafts
Where are you from? and a little bit about youI am originally from Western Massachusetts. I moved to Chicago for graduate school (theology) and have been here since 2005. I finished school and currently work at another university in Chicago.
What items do you carry in your shop?My shop Fantasticrafts carries lots of bright and fun jewelry, as well as other necessities such as wine charms, hair accessories, stitch markers, bookmarks, and magnets. I have another shop on Etsy, VibrantVows that sells bridal and formal jewelry and accessories.
How did you decide on your shop name?
My shop name Fantasticrafts was inspired by my favorite blogger, Richard Lawson from Gawker. He often makes up cute, funny words (like fantasticastle) when describing the exploits of the Real Housewives. VibrantVows was thought up by a verbally talented friend of mine. She actually thought of about 20 potential store names and I had the difficult task of narrowing it down.
Do you have anything new you plan on adding to your store?
I actually have been toying with the idea of creating another new store altogether! I was thinking about a store that just features religious jewelry and accessories, items like my bookmarks or icon magnets. I really enjoy making those types of things and I think they might be better marketed in their own shop. I have to figure out how I want to approach this and need to bulk up the inventory in my bridal shop before I can make a third shop, but it’s my latest idea.

What items in your shop do you most enjoy making and why?
