My Thoughts on Hooked On Phonics
Hooked on Phonics became very popular when I was growing up. But I had never had the privilege of working with it or seeing what it was all about. Now that my daughter is at reading age I was excited to give Hooked On Phonics a try! I received the master level to review and it is wonderful. My daughter loves to pop in the cd and work on her daily “assignments” with each level she completes she gets to place a sticker on her progress report. Then at the end if each colored level there is a chapter book that you can read that corresponds with everything you just learned! My daughter has completed the blue level so far which is the first color and she is currently reading the book that goes with the blue level. I love that Hooked on Phonics is helping her grow and each level reiterates the things she needs to be learning!I have seen a change in how my daughter is reading. She is learning how to break down words so it is easier for her to sound them out. She loves the computer interaction and the fun activities that go along with it!

First off I want to say that I know the Master Level is for 7+. My Daughter is just very advanced in reading and so this is the age group she needed.
It is cool. I love spelling and Hooked on Phonics can help me learn to read and stuff. I learned how to break words apart and I will be starting on the next level soon. Right now I am reading the blue book and it is cool too! Sometimes I had a hard time with long words but Hooked On Phonics showed me to break them apart.
