When it comes to colds, being young is no advantage: Teenagers catch twice as many as people over fifty.
It’s strange but true: If you went to tamp down cold symptoms, “boosting” your immune system is actually the last thing you want to do.
The ways colds spread may surprise you. You’re probably less likely to get a cold from kissing or getting sneezed on, than you are from a simple handshake.
I enjoy reading different books because it is fun to expand my knowledge. That is why I agreed to review Ah-Choo! By Jennifer Ackerman. Ah-Choo! is filled with many fun and interesting facts like did you know there is a t-Rex dinosaur at a Museum in Chicago that scientists believe died of a sore throat? Very interesting! Another fun fact I learned is that the medical term for picking your nose is rhinotillexomania! See! Fun facts!
Ah-Choo! is not all about fun facts. There is a serious nature to this book as well. I learned a lot about the common cold and how it is spread. Many of the interesting facts will make me think twice before placing my hand somewhere, or yelling at my sick kid for sneezing on me. ( I mean that is still gross, but not as contagious as I thought.)
