Getting to know Kristin (seababe)
Where are you from? and a little bit about you
I am originally from Orange County, California. I’ve lived on the North Shore of Oahu for almost 4 years now! Wow, time fly’s! Living here in Hawaii is a pretty surreal thing. I just love it.
How did you decide on your shop name?
Our shop name was decided upon in a brainstorming session between David and I. We wanted something relating to the ocean, so we thought to go with “sea”. Then, David added the Babe part, making the name “Sea Babe.” It stuck well.
What items in your shop do you most enjoy making and why?
What advice would you give to new artist?
I would tell a new artist that once they decide to make a living by selling their pieces, they can expect long hours and a lot of hard work to get the ball rolling. After you put in your time, it will all be worth it.
Can you remember the first piece you ever made?
I don’t actually remember the first piece; there have been so many since them. I’ve made a lot of one of a kinds too. The first piece was sure to have been made using shells though. That is where Sea Babe began. Collecting shells and making them into jewelry started off our entrepreneurship.
Do you have a blog, twitter, or facebook page?
I write a section on a blog David runs. The name is “Six Degrees of Etsy Bacon!” It is a part silly, part serious business blog and it’s a lot of fun. My section is called “Sea Babe Sells” and I give tips and tricks for success at Country Markets and Craft Fairs. Here is the link:

Anything else you would like us to know?
You can find David and his wedding bands it our sister etsy shop:

Sea Babe sent me a pair of Gold Filled Pyrite Cube Mini Earring just like the ones you will have a chance to win. The Mini Earrings are beautiful and because of the color you are able to wear them with just about any outfit. The earrings are small and dainty just the way I like and boy do they shine!
The Earrings are made from Faceted Pyrite Cubes and handmade gold filled French ear wires. The ear wires are stuck in securely and I have no fear of them separating and losing the Pyrite.
Sea Babe also carries a large array of other handcrafted jewelry from Wedding sets, 22k, 18k or 14k Gold Rings, Domed Band Rings, Bangles, Gold Earrings, and Silver Works.
They really know what they are doing with the making of this fine jewelry. I know that making a purchase with them will not leave you disappointed. This is some of the finest handcrafted jewelry I have seen come out of Etsy. I am so happy to have had the chance to review these gorgeous earrings and I hope that the next time you are in need of a fine piece of jewelry you will think of Sea babe!
