The Sound Snatcher is a noisy and hungry vacuum cleaner looking for sounds to snatch. This book is for anyone who ever feared a noisy vacuum cleaner. Especially good for the sensitive child who may become unsettled and anxious when confronted with noisy distractions.
I bet every one of you know a child that is scared of the vacuum cleaner. I run an at home day care and it never fails every time I turn on the vacuum there is a specific little boy that will scream. That is why I knew I just had to review ‘The Sound Snatcher’ by Linda Bryan Sabin!
When the book arrived I sat the kiddos down and started to read it. The kids laughed and laughed! The book talks about all of the sounds that the vacuum eats while it is turned on and I was amazed. In all of the years that I have spent using a vacuum I have never thought of it snatching the sound. What a clever imagination Linda has. This book is a fun read and now when I turn on the vacuum I tell the children to listen to what sounds it is going to snatch.
You all know that educational books are my favorite and so I must say that my favorite thing about this book is at the end there are questions for the children. There are also vocabulary words. I have been reviewing children’s books for awhile and this is the first book that I have seen with vocabulary words. I love this feature and I am so thankful to the author for adding them. Thank you Linda for that wonderful idea!
