After Katie Charmaine’s husband is killed in Iraq, all she has left is a closet full of his clothes, a few pictures, and fond memories. She not only lost her love, but her last chance to have the children she’s always wanted….Until Zach Ferguson shows up in town…with the daughter Katie gave up for adoption nearly seventeen years ago.
I love books like this. Katie is lost and does not know exactly how to move on after the death of her husband. She is surprised when the first love of her life strolls back into town. This book reminded me what it felt like to be a teenager again; the first kiss, the first touch, the first summer romance. Robin ingeniously carries you into the story. I could not put the book down! I was carried away in the life of Katie. She is a very kind and loving person and it is hard not to sympathize with her. But then there is her daughter Gracie; rebellious like most teenagers. Gracie has anger and resentment filling up her life. Can she find the courage to forgive Katie and Zach for their past? I encourage all of you who are a sucker for a good love story to read this wonderful book. It is captivating and takes you on a journey of lost love, romance, adoption, and finding a light at the end of the tunnel! I love this book and I know you will as well!
