I have always been a big Queen Latifah fan. I love that she just knows who she is. She is not afraid to be herself and has never changed for anyone. She is also a genuinely happy person. Queen Latifah has always been one of my favorite role models but she is also one that I never really knew much about. She stays out of the lime light and glitz of Hollywood and is not seen in the tabloids or papers too often. When I read her book I could hear her voice saying everything. It was awesome. Most of the time when I read biographies it is about the trials and tribulations that happen in their life. Queen Latifah was different. She was uplifting and happy. I enjoyed reading something that was about happiness and blessings instead of something that brings you down. She tells you about the kind of person she is and without realizing it she is uplifting you at the same time! In the book Queen Latifah tells you that it is okay to be who you are. You are beautiful no matter what. She talks about how she has not given in to the pressures of Hollywood by losing her weight and having them air brush her photos. She wants women to know that she is beautiful and you can be too!
