To be honest I had never heard of Pam Grier when I agreed to read this book. I agreed to read it because I love to read about other people and the trials they lived through. Pam had many! I don’t know what I would have done if I had to walk in her shoes. Pam was a famous actress in the 70’s whose movies consisted of Coffee, Foxy Brown, Sheba Baby, Fool for Love, and Fort Apache: The Bronx to name a few. I will also admit that I have never seen or had I heard of any of these movies but, now I am excited to find and watch them after reading about some of the events that took place while Pam was filming. I also loved to read about some of the relationships Pam had throughout her life such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Freedie Prinze, and Richard Pryor. Pam and I both grew up in Colorado. I grew up 4 hours from her home town of Denver. But, the lives that we both lead are vastly different. It is amazing the trials that she has went through and each has made her stronger. This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone!
