Where are you from? and a little about you.
I live in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, which is on the east coast of Vancouver Island. We have the best weather in all of Canada! Never too hot, never too cold, just perfect.
I have a full-time day job as an insurance agent, my two children are grown and on their own, and leather crafting is my sanity!
I was seriously injured in a horseback riding accident in Oct 2009, it has always been my favorite pasttime, sadly I will not be returning to the saddle again and needed to find something to fill my time.
One day my special man and I were perusing a funky little bookshop in a small seaside town when I spotted a book on leathercrafting. I thumbed through the book and was instantly enthralled by the versatility of leather.
I have always loved the smell, textures, colours and varieties of leather and decided I wanted to work with it. I purchased the book, and used some of the basic ideas in it to create my own versions. It has just blossomed from there.
How did you decide on your shop name?
I’m not attracted to your typical leathercrafting, and knew I wanted to keep my designs simple, and am not interested in incorporating other fabrics etc. into my creations. So the name was easy…..*simply leather*, nothing else.
What is my inspiration when making a new item?
I never know what I am going to make when I am purchasing leather. I seek out interesting pieces (usually online) and when they arrive I lay them out and put my imagination to work. Leather comes in many different varieties, weights and thicknesses and my creations are dependant upon those factors.

I was so excited to review the leather pouches from Lori. I have been in need of a place for my computer glasses and just had not broke down to purchase a case for them yet. This leather pouch is perfect! It is nice and soft so it will not scratch up my glasses and the craftsmanship is wonderful! I love leather but sometimes it looks cheap and cheesy. That is not the case with Lori’s work. I adore the feel of it and I like how she folded down the top of the larger pouch to make it more decorative both pouches also close tightly which I love! The smaller pouch is perfect for me as well. I have filled it full of my pocket change, a pack of gum, and my chap stick. Now I do not have to dig around in my purse to find those three items that I use so often. I also hated having change all over the bottom of my purse and now this handy little pouch has solved that problem and looks good too! I think these little pouches would be a good gift for anyone and I know that you can find a perfect use for all of Lori’s items!
