He is constantly inviting over friends and family for game time and coming up with new tailgating recipes. I love having company, I love having my husband grill up some great recipes and I love eating the food...but I hate the cleanup! Typically when my husband does all the grilling and cooking I am the one taking care of the clean up. Thank goodness I have great products like Viva® Vantage® from Walmart to help make things easier. Recently my husband grilled up a family favorite. His XXL Cheese Stuffed Cheeseburgers. I love these burgers and so does our company every time they come over. But of course I was stuck with the cleanup! Ingredients: 2lbs 97% Ground Beef 2lbs 80-20 Ground Beef 12oz package Munster Cheese or Cheese of Choice 12oz … [Read more...]

Thank you to HERDEZ® Brand for sponsoring today’s post and inspiring me to further celebrate Día del Niños!  Celebrate Dia del Nino with a Taco Supreme Casserole!   Dia del Nino (or Day of the Child) is right around the corner. This year my daughter asked if we could spend the day hiking together. My daughter and I love hitting the trails and try to go hiking at least once a week. Recently my husband built a RC Rock Crawler that he takes on the trails with us and this year we are going to surprise my daughter with her own on Dia del Nino....shhh don't tell her. ;) After our hike we will come home and make my daughters favorite dinner. She absolutely loves my Taco Supreme Casserole. It has a mixture of all of her favorite foods right into one casserole dish! Yum! Plus she is now old enough to help me make every aspect of this dish. Otto’s BBQ Funyun Meatloaf

044done

BBQ Funyun Meatloaf Meatloaf...what can I say. Some love it and some hate it. When I first moved to a new town my husband quickly made friends with a guy who loved to cook. He would rave about his amazing modernized meatloaf. To be honest it actually sounded really good so my family gave it a try. It is now a staple in our home. My husband cooks twice a week and I must say that he makes this at least once a month and each month he switch's out the 'chips' that he use's to give this meatloaf a fun twist. In this recipe he used Funyun's but he has also used Doritos, Cheetos, and Lays, or even a mixture of all of them! Another fun thing you can mix and match is the BBQ sauce. I have never found a BBQ sauce that does not taste amazing in this recipe, so grab your favorite one and have some fun! Ingredients: 4 lbs ground beef (can also use Turkey, Chicken, etc....)4 oz Funyons + some for top1/2 bottle BBQ sauce (any flavor) - 1/4 in meat and 1/4 for top2 eggs1/4 tsp pepper1/2 tsp garlic … [Read more...]

Lawry’s Marinade Review!

logo (1)

We use a lot of marinades at my house. Especially during the summer months when it is perfect weather for grilling! Recently I was able to review Lawry's new Santa Fe Chili and Herb & White Wine marinades! They of course were delicious! Lawry's Herb & White Wine- For this flavor I decided on grilled salmon. It turned out great! We just purchased some fresh salmon and came home to marinade. It takes 30 minutes to marinade before you grill. After the 30 minutes were up we wrapped the fish in tin foil and placed on the grill. We grilled the fish about 3 minutes per side (or until done). That was it, then we had a perfect meal! Santa Fe Chili-  For this marinade I decided on steak. I had some elk steak in the freezer (any steak will work). I marinaded the steak for 30 minutes and then grilled it on the grill. After we grilled the steak's we sliced then and I placed them into flour tortillas and added fresh corn, tomatos, cilantro, onion and garlic. We then had home … [Read more...]

The Flavors of Fourth of July

Celebrating our country’s independence, the Fourth of July traditionally honors American pride. From fireworks to feasts, this upbeat day highlights American pastimes across the country. In Maryland, locals serve up crab cakes  fresh from the Eastern shore, while Pacific Northwesterners  grill salmon and peas, a meal native to the area. In the Midwest, you’ll find Wisconsin Cheeseheads broiling trout and Indiana Hoosiers  grilling steak and sweet corn. From local meats to patriotic desserts, the Fourth is a time to honor local American cultures, but with growing appreciation for our melting pot make-up, many Fourth of July feasts are seeing some international flavors. I know what you’re thinking — crab meat and salmon are expensive! And that is generally true, but after all, the Fourth of July only comes once a year. There are plenty of delicacies to dive into but you don’t have to go broke doing it. If you’re cooking on a budget, check-out online coupon sites like Valpak and look … [Read more...]
