The Jesus Passages – Grow closer to the Lord through Journaling!

ImageProxy (7)

The Jesus Passages I am a huge fan of journalism I have kept a diary/journal since I was a young child. It is kind of funny because I always wrote out my journal entries to my daughter....YEARS before I even had her. One of my most favorite things to journal about is God. Recently I received a copy of The Jesus Passages by Ron Gannett for the purpose of this review.  I was honestly excited for this book to arrive because I knew that it would help me expand on my thoughts....and my journal. In The Jesus Passages you will find 267 passages from the scriptures. After you read the scripture you will be able to ponder on what it means to you. There is a 'Hook' question that will make you really stop and think about the scripture and what it means to you. Then you can read 'Book' to see what that passage meant to the author. It is a great way for some extra insight into the scripture and can really get you to ponder on different aspects and passages. After the 'Book' is the … [Read more...]

God’s Warhorses! – A Story of Cancer and the Power of God!

God's Warhorses

God's Warhorses! My Thoughts on God's Warhorses - I lived a sheltered life as a child. I say that because I do not remember having sickness around me. My family (including all my extended family) was healthy. I had my parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Sickness and death was not something I ever really thought about. It was not until I was 21 that I first had an experience with Cancer. My Grandpa was diagnosed and it seemed that before anyone in the family could blink by Grandpa was gone from this world. My next experience with cancer was just last year. My Aunt told the family that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. This rocked the family of course because everyone knew what had happened with Grandpa. It was just a few short weeks from his diagnoses until his death. It was very quick and rapid for him and heart breaking for the family. So far months later my Aunt is still doing great. She is finishing up her last radiation treatments before … [Read more...]

Break Away Movie Review and Giveaway! Ends 5/16/13!

51Izlo969tL._SY300_

My Thoughts on Break Away I love watching uplifting movies. Movies that don't contain all the horror and violence that is so often in movies. Recently I received a copy of Break Away for the purpose of this review. I knew that this movie would be a great movie to watch with my family. When the title arrived we all cuddled on the couch to watch Break Away. It only took 5 minutes for this movie to hit home. There are so many people who have lost their jobs in this economy. Some of them who have lost their jobs have slithered in self pity and sat on the couch not doing anything about it....others did something extraordinary! That is exactly what Francois did without even realizing it. In Break Away Francois is laid off. With being laid off comes an unimaginable burden of keeping his family going and paying off the accumulating pile of debt that he has. Francois knows that he must do something and quickly applies for every job he comes across. During one of … [Read more...]

Chicken Soup for the Soul Raising Kids on the Spectrum Review and Giveaway – 3 Winners US and Canada Ends 5/13/13!

My Thoughts on Chicken Soup for the Soul Raising Kids on the Spectrum   Thanks to Chicken Soup for the Soul I was recently sent a copy of their book Chicken Soup for the Soul Raising Kids on the Spectrum for the purpose of this review. A few years ago I worked as a substitute teacher. One of my substitute jobs ended up being a couple of weeks long and entailed working with an Autistic student. That was my first encounter with autism. To be honest he fascinated me. The knowledge that he had was out of this world. He just did not understand what he needed to do with all that brain power he had going on. It was amazing. Since then I have worked with and babysat many autistic children. Each of them amaze me with their knowledge! I am not a parent of an Autistic child but I do know many parents who have children with Autism and Asperger's. At times I know they feel very alone and it is hard for them to get understanding from other parents because no one … [Read more...]

Disneynature Wings of Life!

51I9PsmUn3L._SY300_

Disney Nature: Wings of Life I can't seem to get enough of these amazing titles from Disneynature. It is amazing to finally have an up close and personal look at the world around us. Thanks to Disney I was able to review their new title Wings of Life. This movie is brilliantly put together. My daughter and I watched wide eyed as we seen a caterpillar make a cocoon, Bee's in their hive, the story of pollination and so much more. With Disneynatures Wings of Life your child will have a blast learning about the world around them. I know as a child I spent my time trying to get close to animals but for some reason they would just run or fly away from me. Thanks to Disneynature I was finally able to see just what a butterfly's wings looked like, how the bee's carry the pollen and a caterpillar shed its outer skin. Simply amazing! On The Back From Disneynature, the studio that brought you Earth, Oceans, African Cats and Chimpanzee, comes Wings of Life - a stunning … [Read more...]

This book was an eye opener into his life and I really enjoyed reading the fun stories every one wrote about him. Undefeated – Documentary Review!

F074E1E8-DEA4-4F90-9116-360CC2F2C7D3

My Thoughts on Undefeated Pure inspiration! That is what I felt all the way through this DVD. Undefeated is about a football team in inner-city Memphis. The kids are underprivileged....well that is until coach Bill Courtney shows up. In this documentary you will watch Coach Bill Courtney change not only the football team but also the hearts of those on the team. His words are uplifting and really they really get into your mind. What an amazing man who made a difference in the lives of so many. Giving these kids a shot like they had never had before. Truly a great documentary that I will be watching again and again! From Press Release: BEVERLY HILLS, CA – Anchor Bay Entertainment and The Weinstein Company announced today the Blu-ray™ and DVD release of the uplifting Oscar®-winning football documentary, UNDEFEATED, a directorial collaboration from filmmakers Dan Lindsay (Why Us?) and TJ Martin (A Day of Hype in America).  A true story about courage and … [Read more...]

Gola Shoes Review and Giveaway! Ends 3/19/13!

SPIRIT JERSEY GREY MARL ACID YELLOW_0.preview

My Thoughts on Gola Shoes As most of you know I have been going to the gym regularly. I am in desperate need of losing weight and I know that a gym membership and a trainer is the exact motivation that I need. When I made the choice to hit the gym I knew I was going to need some good work out clothes. This included a great pair of comfortable shoes. Unfortunately that is not what I purchased. I mean they were ok but after about two months of daily workouts I could feel my right foot sliding around sideways in my shoe. That is not really a feeling you want to have when you are jogging along on a treadmill. I knew after about two days of putting up with my terrible shoes that it was time to invest in some quality. That is when I came across Gola. To be honest I had never heard of them before but after a in depth investigation of their website I knew these were the shoes I needed for my daily workouts. Gola has lots of shoes and styles available for purchase but my favorite … [Read more...]

CAMP Board Game Review!

71BaJhzfjxL._AA1008_

My Thoughts on CAMP Board Game I come from an outdoorsy family and we love to get together and play board games! The CAMP Board Game is the perfect game to keep the outdoors in our life throughout the winter months when we don't get to the mountains as often as we would like. In the CAMP Board Game you can choose 1 of 4 levels of questions to ask each person depending on their knowledge. This is a game that really is perfect for the whole family because no matter your age you can be challenged to learn more new and interesting facts. For example my 7 year old daughter might get a question like ' What is the color of a male cardinal' and have multiple choice answers to choose from. That question might be a little easy for me or my husband so on the same card we might get a higher level question asked to us like 'How many states have the cardinal as the state bird?' Now that might be a little more challenging! I love that the game is not only fun for the whole family but also … [Read more...]

Vicks Behind Ear Thermometer Review!

510qNeSC3KL

My Thoughts on Vicks Behind Ear Thermometer It's that time of year again. Cold and Flu season! It is such a horrible feeling to see your little ones sick. It breaks my heart  to see my daughter so down and the last thing I ever want to do is wake her up once she is finally sleeping. That is why I think it is important to use a thermometer that she won't even notice. The Vicks Behind Ear Thermometer is easy to us and read. The screen will light up green behind the temperature to let you know that their body temperature is okay and you have nothing to worry about. If there is a fever then the light behind the temperature will change to yellow for a mild fever and red for a high fever. This will help you to take the guessing game out of "How high should I let a fever get before I get concerned." Another feature about the Vicks Behind Ear Thermometer that I love is how quickly I can take a second temperature after the first. With many thermometers you have to wait for them to cool … [Read more...]

Try Progressive Snapshot and save money! – Review!

292

My Thoughts on Snapshot from Progressive   You might have seen the commercials for Progressive's Snapshot. Some of you might have tried it and some of you might be wondering if it really works or is worth it. I can tell you that it is great and you really can save! Recently I was able to give Progressive's Snapshot a try. It arrived in the mail within a few days after signing up. It was this little grey thing that inserted quickly and easily under my steering wheel in my car. As I did the 30 Day Snapshot challenge I was able to log onto a Progressive Snapshot website and see my results. I was able to read about my driving and get tips on how to save more! Every time I started my car I would hear the snapshot beep as it turned on. It would pay attention to my driving (silently) and later transmit the data on it's own to Progressive. It really was that easy. I did not have to worry or think about it. I can attest that Snapshot from Progressive really can save you … [Read more...]

The Muppet Christmas Carol Review!

0F5468DF-12F2-4240-BE68-998BA3DB9138

My Thoughts on The Muppet Christmas Carol My daughter who is in 2nd grade came home a few weeks ago excited because she was going to be in her first ever play. She get's to be Scrooge in The Christmas Carol at school. She had never before heard of The Christmas Carol and I was excited to let her see it for the first time.....played out by The Muppet's of course! The Muppet's are something very special at our house. My daughter loves going to The Muppet show in Disney Land and to be honest when I seen that show for the first time a few years ago it was one of my first ever experiences with The Muppets. I feel in love with the great characters and ever since I have went out of my way to watch Gonzo, Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog! On The Back Greetings, holiday movie fans and culture lovers, I am the Great Gonzo...or as I am better known to fans of this classic motion picture - literary legend Charles Dickens. Ready to laugh, cry, sing, frolic, cavort and enjoy yourself beyond … [Read more...]

Epic Mickey 2 The Power of Two Review!

51j-c5J7gAL._AA300_

My Thoughts on Epic Mickey 2 The Power of Two I have said this before and I will say it again....Epic Mickey is the most fun game EVER! I was SO excited when I heard that Epic Mickey was going to make a 2nd game! The first time I turned on Epic Mickey I was surprised at the difficulty and graphics of this game. I usually don't like to play games that go along with cartoons or movies since they seem to be so simple and easy. But that is  NOT the case with these awesome Epic Mickey games! In Epic Mickey 2 takes place in Wasteland just like the first one does. You will have fun using your paint and thinner to help save your beloved land. You will also get to interact with Disney Characters from the early years of Disney! I also love that you can trade pins in this fun Epic Mickey game which is something my family and I love to do at DisneyLand! Disney's Epic Mickey 2 The Power of Two is really an awesome game. Even my husband can't wait to get home to play it. He loves the … [Read more...]
