My New Focus on One by One!

OnebyOne

**I was provided with a copy of this title for the purpose of this review. However my own opinion was used and not influenced in any way.   My New Focus on One by One! I know that I am not the only one who has thought about the question "Do I really matter to God?" That is a question Elder Bednar sure answered for me in his new book One by One. One by One not only helped me to answer that question for myself but he took it a step further and helped me better understand my calling and the needs of my Primary kids. I was called as the ward Primary President 4.5 years ago. These past 4+ years have been so fulfilling, but I also feel like I am not done yet. There is still so much work to do within our Primary and there always will be. At times I am burdened because my list of inactive children is so long and daunting. I want to reach out to them all beyond the yearly birthday cards and letters I mail out to the children I have yet to meet. I have such a testimony of the … [Read more...]

My Little House on the Prairie Connection!

** I was provided with a copy of this title for the purpose of this review. However, my own opinion was used and not influenced in any way. My Little House on the Prairie Connection!   When I was a child I was addicted to Little House on the Prairie. If I was not found reading the books then I was watching it on T.V. It was a big deal to me and something I had in common with my Momma. Fast forward to my adult life with a daughter of my own. I was so excited to share my love with Little House on the Prairie with my daughter. As soon as she was old enough to understand I tried to read the books with her. She hated them! I mean would not even sit down and listen to them when I tried reading with her. She got board, they were not her "style". It was excuse after excuse for her to not have to listen to them with me. So after a few times trying I decided to give it up. Maybe when she is older I thought. Just a few short months after I tried to introduce Little House on … [Read more...]

Simplifying My Life with Birds……

** I was provided with a copy of this title for the purpose of this review. However, my own opinion was used and not influenced in any way. Simplifying My Life with Birds...... I feel like I have not blogged in years. It  has been a very long time since I sat down and just started pouring my heart out in a post to all of you. Honestly I have let life get ahead of me recently. I have let myself get wrapped up in so much "stuff" from homeschooling, babysitting, being Primary President at church, being a wife and mother, focusing on my health and more! With everything on my plate I was no longer having time to do things for myself. I mean I am still getting in my daily workouts but that is about the only thing I am doing for "me". The rest of the day I feel like I am running a marathon and no longer have time to think let alone sit down for a minute. For years I have watched my husband find time to de-stress. He typically spends his stress free time in the garage … [Read more...]

Six Qualities of a First-Rate Family Restaurant

Six Qualities of a First-Rate Family Restaurant When you take your spouse and children out to eat, you want to be reasonably sure you’re going to have an enjoyable experience. In short, you want to be able to eat in an establishment where you can relax and savor a delicious meal. Consider six qualities to look for in a first-rate family restaurant. A Friendly, Attentive Staff A friendly staff of servers is a must-have quality for a first-rate family restaurant. Most families appreciate restaurant servers who suggest items on the menu that they’ve tried and enjoyed. Also, they like servers who visit the table a reasonable amount of times throughout the meal to see if anyone needs a refill on a drink, dessert or another item on the menu. If a guest wants a special adjustment made to a meal or dish, a friendly server will be happy to convey that request to the chef. Sometimes an experience with a courteous, friendly server is enough to turn first-time visitors to a restaurant into … [Read more...]

** I was provided with a copy of this title for the purpose of this review. However, my own opinion was used and not influenced in any way.   Say & Pray Devotions Review & Giveaway! My Thoughts! My baby girl just turned a year old! I can't believe that this year has already passed..but at the same time I am super happy that she is now at a stage where she is learning and growing and becoming really fun. That is why I have been reading more and more to her. She loves books and I love knowing that I am helping her build a good and strong vocabulary. Especially with books that help her learn about the items around her. On each page of Say & Pray Devotions there is a little part about all the gifts that God has made us. Like our bodies, the animals and more. It is so beautiful to be reminded about the gifts from God that we might take for granted. It has also reminded my older daughter about things that she needs to add to her prayers to Thank God for. To go … [Read more...]

This Halloween will be my baby girls 1st Halloween. I am so excited to see how she does with people in costume, how she likes the candy thing and just to see her experience all that goes with this fun Holiday. I am also excited to show off our matching Rag Doll costumes we got at Oriental Trading! They are so awesome and comfy!   This is the first year that I have received a costume from Oriental Trading. I was unsure what to expect and was excited to give the costumes a try. So..ok. Here is the low down. I am honestly in love with the quality and just how much came with each costume. Usually when I purchase a costume it has this awesome picture on the front but then you get to reading and the bag/picture lists items that is “Not Included”. That was NOT the case with either of these Rag … [Read more...]

Oriental Trading for your Halloween Needs!

** I was provided with product for the purpose of this review. However my own opinion was used and not influenced in any way. Oriental Trading for your Halloween Needs! It's another year! Can you believe it! Some of you might remember my Oriental Trading post from last Halloween...or even the Halloween before that! I am obsessed with them and purchase from them ALL THE TIME. Especially around Holiday's like Halloween. I think that in this day in age it is safer to give kids toys and stickers vs. some of the candy's that might contain nuts and such. Also if I do give candy I want it to be something that they have never seen before. Something different! This year was no exception. I received some amazing toys and treats from Oriental Trading to hand out to the kiddos. I even scored 2 more Gnomes to add to my collection! Yippee! When my box of goodies arrived I could not wait to get it open and give everything a try. Of course I have to taste test the candy before I hand it … [Read more...]

My Baby is 11 Months + Her Favorite is GERBER CEREAL!

DSCN6400done

My Baby is 11 Months + Her Favorite Food is GERBER CEREAL! My baby girl is 11 months old today!! Honestly I can't believe that it is time to start planning her 1 year party! How can she be almost a year old already! Time goes too fast. I feel like we have been through so much this past year with her. One thing I have been happy to have by my side is a baby food company I can trust. One that I know wants the best for my child just like I do. Gerber is that company and they have been with me from the very beginning! As some of you might remember my baby girl was born at 9lbs 6oz but after she was born she lost a few pounds and had a hard time putting the weight back on. When she was 4 months old I was advised to start her on some infant cereals to help her learn to eat and hopefully start to put on a little more weight. Of course I turned to GERBER CEREALS because I knew they would be gentle enough for my babies tummy and I could easily mix them with my breast … [Read more...]

Hearty Homemade Yogurt Parfait for Baby Using Gerber Lil’ Bits!

DSCN6173done

Hearty Homemade Yogurt Parfait for Baby Using Gerber Lil' Bits! My daughter is finally eating solid foods and enjoying them! I love watching her face every time she eats a new food. It is wonderful to see her eyes light up when she comes across tastes and textures that she likes and are new to her. Something else that is fun is seeing her want to enjoy the same foods that she see's me eating. I know that she is watching me and she is learning from me so I want to make sure I always show her and give her the best. One of my favorite meals to eat is Breakfast. Each morning my oldest daughter and I enjoy overnight oats with yogurt and fruit. I love how hearty it is as well as tasty. For a few weeks now my youngest has watched intently as my oldest and I enjoy our oats. She is constantly crying and reaching for our food. This got me to thinking....can I make her some of the same thing? I know that she can not chew steal cut oats yet but she can most defiantly have her baby approved … [Read more...]

** I was provided with a copy of this title for the purpose of this review. However, my own opinion was used and not influenced in any way. The Adventures of Rooney Cruz - Esther The Belle of Patience   I love my two girls and I want to give them the best chance possible in life. I know that I am not the only Mother who feels that way about her children. It can be hard at times to know if we are doing the right thing as moms, if we are teaching them enough. Luckily we have so many resources available to us. One of my favorite ways to help teach my daughters about life lessons is through books. We are big on reading in my home. I always had a love of books and I want to make sure to pass that on to my little ones. Recently I was sent a copy of the book The Adventures of Rooney Cruz Ester The Belle of Patience. This is a great read not only because it teaches the kids about patience but also because it brings (my favorite) Bible story of Esther to life. Esther is a … [Read more...]

Lovin’ My Portable Stereo Turntable

** I was sent this product for the purpose of this review. However my own opinion was used and not influenced in any way. Lovin' My Portable Stereo Turntable   A few months ago my daughter and I were shopping at an antique store. I remember coming around a corner and seeing some records to which my daughter immoderately asked "What the heck are these Mom? They look like big CD's." I was honestly surprised that she did not know what they were. She is 11 years old! I grew up with a turntable in my room and listened to records all the time. I guess I took that for granted and just expected her to know lol. I explained to her what they were and we ended up searching around the antique store until finding a turntable. I showed her how it would work and such...she was so curious and amazed. Fast forward a few weeks and I got a surprising email asking me if  I would be interested in reviewing..guess what...a turntable! YAY! I of course said yes and immediately went down town … [Read more...]

However, my own opinion was used and not influenced in any way.   Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors Movie Review I am so happy to say that I grew up with Dolly Parton's music. I can still hear my Momma's voice singing Coat of Many Colors which is one of her favorite songs. I also remember my Mom telling me a story when I was little about how it was my Grandmothers dream in life to do Dolly Parton's nails. Just thought you all would like to know those interesting little tid bits! :) Recently I was able to review Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors Movie. I must say that I was thrilled when it arrived because I was able to watch it on T.V. and could not wait to see it again! I loved this movie and the look into her life when she was younger. It is also refreshing to be able to watch something so uplifting, refreshing and wholesome. I love that Dolly's faith and family shined through in this movie and … [Read more...]

Golf 3-2done

Rice Krispies Golf Ball Treats! I am excited for Fathers Day this year. Not only is my little brother getting married that week but for the first time in a long, long time all of my brothers and I will be with our Dad. To make it even more special I will also be able to spend it with my husband and two daughters! We are going to have a blast in Salt Lake City together and plan on going to Lagoon which is my husband and daughters favorite place next to Disneyland! I am blessed to have an amazing Dad. I can remember doing so many fun and wonderful things with him. One of which was golfing. He started this hobby when I was finishing up high school. It was fun to be able to hit the green with my Dad and spend that time bonding. I have not been able to golf with him in several years as I moved away from home  8 years ago and just have not made the time to go golfing since..but these treats really make me want to make the time to do it again and I can't wait. This recipe … [Read more...]

As most of you know I currently have a "tween" as she calls herself. She is just starting into the folded arms, eye rolls and back talking. It is driving me and her father insane. Sometimes it is easy to lose our temper. Especially with someone who is testing out her boundaries and just coming into her own as a pre-teen. Because of a few difficult things we have had going on with our daughter I knew that this book was for me. Honestly I did not even make it through the first chapter before I was crying. This book was filled with words that I needed to read and I honestly feel like it was … [Read more...]
