Expert Restoration is Needed to Salvage a Storm Damaged Building

Expert Restoration is Needed to Salvage a Storm Damaged Building Mother nature can be brutal when she unleashes the wind and the rain. The combination of these two forces can do unimaginable damage in a short amount of time. While storm warnings are issued on both radio and television broadcasts as soon as they are received, there are times when the damage caused by a weather event cannot be avoided. Once a destructive storm has passed, property owners are left to pick up the pieces and begin working to restore their home or commercial property. Very often repairing the damage is beyond the ability of the property owner, so they make the choice to contact a storm damage restoration company for help. If there is extensive storm damage in the area, volunteers may come from other states to help with the cleanup. However, when it comes to cleaning and restoring damaged structures, the best choice for property owners may be in contacting professional storm remediation service for … [Read more...]

Uses For Foam In The Home

Uses For Foam In The Home When you think of foam, you might think of the material that is used in cushions for couches and chairs. While this is a common way to use foam padding, there are other uses for the home. One of the things to consider is foam replacement. If you notice that there is any kind of seating in the home that is flat or uncomfortable, consider wrapping a piece of foam with a cloth. You can use any kind of cloth that matches the decorations in the room so that there is a nice blend of colors. Another idea is to create a small bed for children to lay on while taking a nap. You will need two or three pieces of padding that you can get from companies like The Foam Factory. Sew fabric of colorful patterns around each piece of foam. Once all of the pieces have been covered, you can attach them together with another piece of fabric so that the mat can fold. This is also something that children can lay on while watching a movie or playing on the floor. If you have … [Read more...]

Between my husband, daughter and the children I babysit it seems that a weekdoes not go by that I don't have to add AA's or AAA's to my grocery list. I also know that it is soon going to get worse with the new baby and all of her toys and gadgets.   Recently while I was shopping at Walmart I came across a new battery made by Energizer® that caught my eye. They are called Energizer® EcoAdvanced™ batteries and they are the first battery to be made from recycled battery materials. I think this idea is ingenious and it's so fun to see that all of our battery recycling efforts over the years have not been in vain. Energizer® says that It's another step in our journey to bring performance and … [Read more...]

Steel Patios And Pergolas

Steel Patios And Pergolas Steel patios, a wonderful option to add style and flair to your home, are well-known for their versatility in such settings as carports and outdoor entertainment areas. The design options available for these patios are virtually endless. The range of options includes a gable, pyramid, flat and dome roof or even a combination of these if you prefer. One of the best advantages of steel is that it is quite strong in tension, enabling it to span large distances. This means that steel can be used to span a large patio area or verandah without requiring numerous columns for support. Another advantage of purchasing a steel patio/pergola is that steel requires much less maintenance than the traditional wooden structures. Quite frequently, the paint on wood structures wears away rapidly. Paint applied to steel, on the other hand, lasts for a very long time until repainting is necessary. The pricing of steel versus wood is also a critical factor to consider before … [Read more...]

But, that was before I was rudely awakened by a very loud BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP. You see, a few nights ago my family and I had just cuddled into bed. I was just on the verge of that deep sleep when the fire alarm started going off. My husband and I quickly jumped out of bed and started to run down the hallway. I headed to my daughters room and was frantically screaming for my daughter to wake up. She slept right though the alarm which made the situation even more terrifying to me. As I was yelling at my daughter my husband ran through the house in search of the fire. Just as he was coming back down the hallway from his investigation the alarms suddenly stopped. My husband and I looked around, smelled the air...where was the fire? As it turns out there was no fire. Nothing at all. … [Read more...]

Desire to be inspired with Bombay!

Artwork, ottomans, textiles such as an exquisite rug or a matching pillow to put the room together are just a few things that I am being inspired to incorporate in my new home. My family just recently moved into a beautiful new home and the only problem I am having is that I have more space than what I know what to do with! We came from a very small space where we were literally using the kitchen table for every project you can think of and then taking everything off to eat on it so needless to say we couldn’t fit much more into the tiny space we had lived in. Now that I have some space I have been inspired to fill my home and these empty spaces I have with unique and charming items that personalize our home from others. For instance my husband and I keep staring at this blank space that is near the kitchen but not the dining room where our kitchen table is and then it finally dawned on us that possibly a baker’s rack along with a beautiful cabinet would tie it all … [Read more...]
