** I was sent a copy of this title for the purpose of this review. However, my own opinion was used and not influenced in any way. My Name is Leona By Carol Gahara Harris I think that every child goes through a phase of disliking their name and/or imagining a new name. That is why I am happy to say that Author Carol Gahara Harris has written a new book that will help kids understand why their name is so special. In My Name is Leona you will be carried away on an adventure with Leona to discover why her name is so special and a name just for her. I found My Name is Leona to be extremely cute and upbeat. I have never before seen a children's book written about this topic and I was thrilled to be able to share this book with my daughter who also has a very unusual name. As parents it takes a long time to choose a name for your child. Most parents don't even know for sure what the name will be until they first look upon their child. I was one of those. ** I was provided with a copy of this title for the purpose of this review. However, my own opinion was used and not influenced in any way. Chicken Soup for the Soul From Lemons to Lemonade Sometimes when life gets you down it is really hard to stay positive. It just seems that there is depressing things everywhere in life. Between sickness, watching the news and financial hardships things are just not going good for many people. I learned early in life the importance of positive thinking. Sometimes I make my family mad because they say that I am "too positive". To be honest it's not like I'm unaffected by bad things. I just try really hard to not let the bad take over my mind. For example every time I start to think about something depressing in my life I stop and count at least 10 blessings that I have in my life. Focusing on the blessings can be a great way to keep your mind positive. I just always remember that all I can do is try my best and God will take care of … [Read more...]

It is kind of funny because I always wrote out my journal entries to my daughter....YEARS before I even had her. One of my most favorite things to journal about is God. Recently I received a copy of The Jesus Passages by Ron Gannett for the purpose of this review. I was honestly excited for this book to arrive because I knew that it would help me expand on my thoughts....and my journal. In The Jesus Passages you will find 267 passages from the scriptures. After you read the scripture you will be able to ponder on what it means to you. There is a 'Hook' question that will make you really stop and think about the scripture and what it means to you. Then you can read 'Book' to see what that passage meant to the author. It is a great way for some extra insight into the scripture and can really get you to ponder on different aspects and passages. After the 'Book' is the … [Read more...]
