I am proud to say that Mom is my best friend. We have been through so much these past 30 years. As a Mom and daughter we have been through thick and thin together. There were times that I did not want to be around her and times that I just wanted my Mommy…but no matter what situation we were going through I always knew that she loved me…and she loves me still!
Now that I am older and have a daughter of my own I realize just how much my Mom sacrificed for all of her kids. She never missed a single soccer game, wrestling match, choir concert or ballet recital. She was there for everything! She was the one who made our “boo boo’s” better and cooked us kids Chicken Noodle Soup (from scratch) every time we were sick. All of those wonderful things my Mom did as I was growing up laid the foundation for me. Because of her I have always known just what to do with my daughter to give her the life that she deserves. I am truly blessed, which is why I try to take every opportunity to tell her and show her just how much she means to me.
Hallmark cards have always been my “go-to” for #ConnectingFriends and showing my loved ones just how much they mean to me . To go along with the Hallmark cards I also purchased my Mom and MIL’s favorite snacks and even some #TBT (Throw Back Thursday) photos that I knew would bring a smile to their faces. Walmart is a great place to print off your photos. You can even upload them online, have them printed and then pick them up when it is convenient for you!
My Mom’s basket included Cinnamon Bears and Popcorn. As a kid I remember her eating them together. It was her favorite special snack. I also printed off some photos of her with us kids, her holding me as a child and one of my family now.
My MIL’s basket contained soda and black licorice which my husband said is her favorite snack. I also included photos of her with my daughter and her with her kids.
We were able to bring my MIL her gift basket this past weekend. We gave her the basket and then took her out for a hike. She was thrilled. I am also excited to say that today I am going to surprise my Mom at work with her basket. She is a 3rd grade teacher and I know that she will love to get a special basket like this at work!
