DIY Bath Bombs – Mother’s Day Gift Idea

Remember those Mother’s Day gift baskets I told you about a few days ago? Well here is another DIY gift for you to make for your Mother! These Bath Bombs are easy to make and I am sure that any Mother would enjoy (and deserve) a nice relaxing bath! I can’t wait for the look on my Mom’s face when she sees a gift basket filled with home made bath and body products! She deserves it!

DIY Bath Bombs

I love to make my own Bath bombs, lotions, bubble baths, soap and more! I was worried at first that they might be hard..but they are all super easy to make and I love knowing what is in the products I use!

Ingredients:

1 Cups Citric Acid

2 Cups Baking Soda

1 oz shea butter or coconut butter (melted)

5-6 drops Essential Oil

Mica Colorant (optional)

Spray bottle of Witch Hazel

Directions:

*If you have a manicure, wear gloves, or use a fork during the mixing process.

In a mixing bowl combine citric acid and baking soda, being sure to remove all lumps.

Add in mica, melted butter and essential oil and continue to mix.

Using your spray bottle, spray the mixture 2-3 times and mix, slowly adding more witch hazel until the mixture holds it shaped when pressed together.

Press into silicone molds, making sure to compact them tightly.

Allow to dry in silicon molds for 12 hours. Once 12 hours is up, remove from molds, and allow to dry an additional 24 hours for a nice hard bath bomb.

If you are not sure where to find ingredients such as Citric Acid, Witch Hazel or Essential Oil you can check out your local Natural Grocery Store!

I love to use Vanilla scented oil when I make items for myself…but I know that my Mom LOVES Lavender! What scent of oil would you use?
