God’s Warhorses!
My Thoughts on God’s Warhorses – I lived a sheltered life as a child. I say that because I do not remember having sickness around me. My family (including all my extended family) was healthy. I had my parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Sickness and death was not something I ever really thought about.
It was not until I was 21 that I first had an experience with Cancer. My Grandpa was diagnosed and it seemed that before anyone in the family could blink by Grandpa was gone from this world.
My next experience with cancer was just last year. My Aunt told the family that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. This rocked the family of course because everyone knew what had happened with Grandpa. It was just a few short weeks from his diagnoses until his death. It was very quick and rapid for him and heart breaking for the family.
So far months later my Aunt is still doing great. She is finishing up her last radiation treatments before she will hopefully get the news that she is now cancer free. That is the news that the whole family is longing to hear and we are constantly praying for that each and every day.
Recently I was sent a copy of God’s Warhorses by John J Chaya for the purpose of this review. To be honest when the book arrived I did not know that it was about a cancer journey. As soon as I opened the first page and read the title ‘God’s Intentions and Power in my Cancer World‘ I was intrigued and I knew that I had to read this book.
I can not imagine going through cancer. I know that I have heard tons of stories and such…but it is really hard to put yourself into the situation and life of others. It is one of those things that you just don’t understand unless you have lived with it yourself.
In this book God’s Warhorse I was able to have an inside look into the life of cancer. John’s world was torn apart as he went through the treatments and the pain of cancer. It was hard for him to accept God’s will in the beginning. But in time he learned to understand that there are times to fight and then there are times to let God hold you.
I really enjoyed reading John’s words on his cancer journey. I found this book to be uplifting and very spiritual Throughout the book John will let you know the scriptures and kind words that helped to get him through and to give him a better understanding about God’s plan for him.
If you are going through anything in your life where you feel alone and you are struggling or you know someone who is…then please read John’s book God’s Warhorses. It will really help to change the way you look at life and help you to be more positive. No matter what God is here for you! He loves you and wants you to be happy.

My mom was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer only to go through treatment and then get diagnosed with stage 4 at the end of treatment. During her stent of treatment, my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. they were diagnosed within 3 months of eachother and I was 28 y/o with a newborn. My dad lost his battle, but my mom is 3 years in and doing great. Its amazing what a good outlook can do.
