Faith and Other Flat Tires Review!

My thoughts on Faith and Other Flat Tires by Andrea Palpant Dilley – Let’s keep in mind this is a memoir, I happen to find memoirs most intriguing. A lot of times in a memoir the reader will tend to find a piece of them relating to the author and that is just what I did. I was able to relate to Dilley and a lot of her feelings in this book.

Faith and Other Flat Tires is an honest read which I appreciated the most from Dilley. Dilley doesn’t write herself in this memoir as a victim but also isn’t putting herself in a heroine stereotype either. She is just simply honest and is who she is which can rub people the wrong way with the questions she asks and the things she wants to know. She is a very bright woman who knew what to question and when to ask why. Sometimes being brutally honest can make people uncomfortable but isn’t it just deep down something we all want to know the answers too?

You will enjoy getting to know Andrea Palpant Dilley and her intriguing life as she paints a vivid picture of how her upbringing in a strong Christian home with an under laying hippie tone pans out for her. She starts to think for herself and debates with her father some of the deep questions revolving around religion. She was able to get a different perspective on life when growing up as a missionary family and exploring the world and at one point in her life her older brother had sent her some music that was consider worldly which made her start to broaden her mind more.

Faith and Other Flat Tires will make you want to keep turning the page to see if her walk with faith will take her away from religion or take her back. It’s a journey that a lot of us have had or are on. Is doubt just holding you back from what could potentially be a better you? Faith and Other Flat Tires is a memoir that describes in detail all about having doubt and working through it.
