Getting to know TreacherCreatures
How did you get started creating your work?I found a Japanese book about making creatures from socks and gloves. I made a few of these, then started designing my own and have never looked back.
What advice would you give to new artist?Keep experimenting, and keep creating, even when sales are down.
What do you do when you’re not being an artist? What activities do you enjoy?
I am a stay at home mum who also loves reading and doing craft activities with our daughter.
Can you remember the first piece you ever made?
Yes, it was a sock cat and I still have it sitting on shelves in our bedroom.When did you first notice you had a talent in this?
I have been sewing and designing creatures since I was a child. It is just the materials that have changed. I discovered socks had a far greater potential for designs than flat material and have allowed me to try more complex designs than I would have considered before.
