Let me start out by saying that your headlights are one of the mist important safety features on your vehicle. So the more light you get out if your lens the better! Right?
My husband ripped into the 3M Headlight Restoration Kit as soon as he could. He was outside polishing up the headlights on his truck and then my car. The first step he did was mask off the paint and anything around the headlight. With that step he was protecting the paint and seeing to it that there was nothing damaged. The second step my husband did was sand the lens with the 500 grit sand paper that was provided with the kit which removed all of the yellowing in the lens. The third step was sanding with the 800 grit sand disk that was also in the kit. This aided in smoothing out some of the scratches that had occurred during the sanding with the previous paper. (Don’t worry it was supposed to do that!!) Fourth step was the gray foam sanding paper which made the scratches even finer. Fifth step was applying the polish with the orange pad which polished the lens and helped it to be clear. Then sixth my husband placed the protective wax type stuff on the lens and then wiped off as the directions stated to do. My husband took a photo of the lenses on his truck after he did the first lens. You can easily see the difference. As he says the lights look brand new again!
