The 3-Day Cleanse Book Review and Giveaway CLOSES

I was excited when I got the opportunity to read The 3-Day Cleanse by Zoe Sakoutis and Erica Huss. I have always wanted to try a cleanse. However, I have never wanted to suffer through eating only Cayenne pepper, lemon juice, or maple syrup.

After I read the first few chapters I became eager to try this cleanse. Drinking homemade juice everyday sounded enjoyable! I rushed to the store and purchased everything the book said I needed for my first cleanse.

I was also excited because the back of the book said that the cleanse would Boost my immune system, Alleviate allergies and PMS, Reset my metabolism, Improve my mood and sex drive, as well as clear up my skin! Who would not want that??

My 3-Day Cleanse Journal

Day 1– I don’t own a juicer to make these juices so I improvised. I have been blending all of the ingredients with my blender and then straining out the liquid. It is working well for me. I am pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the juices taste. I love fruits and veggies anyway but I was a little nervous about some of the combinations they wanted me to drink such as Pineapple-Beet-Ginger-Pear. I am also surprised at how I feel today. I thought I would have hunger pains and such but, the 6 drinks a day that I am able to drink is keeping me full!! So far I have it planned out that I can drink one juice every other hour.

Day 2– I have so much more energy today then I normally have. Usually I get tired after lunch and just feel wore out. Today I feel like I can conquer the world. I have yet to have hunger pains. The kiddo’s also love to eat the blended pulp. It does not look appetizing after I blend it…but hey, it’s just fruits and veggies and they love it!

Day 3– I could do this the full 5 days! I still don’t feel hungry and I am feeling better about myself. I was not expecting to feel like this after 3 days of only juice in my system! I have much more energy and I feel great!

Day 4– I am back on normal food again today. I tried to eat a few potato chips and they tasted like pure salt. I could only eat about three chips before I could not stand it anymore. That is crazy for me because potato chips are my downfall in life. I love them! I also noticed today that I can’t eat as big of portion sizes. In addition I made a few juices today because they just seem to have become a staple in my life. I was craving the wonderful taste of the cucumber/green grape drink! I do believe that I will start making a juice for me and my family for breakfast each morning. I am excited to say that I am going to try to do a 3-day cleanse to re-boot my system every month.

  1. This is my first visit to your blog via Nut in a Nutshell and I must say that this cleanse looks terrific and I'd love to try it.

I'm trying my best to watch what I eat and to be more active. But I think a jump start like this would be just the thing.

  2. I need this in my life as I am a mom who also works outside the home and has noticed the toll it is taking on my health. I need something to help me move towards a more healthy lifestyle.

  3. The excerpts of the book I read were very common sense, easy to read, and applicable to the real person. It also touched on many of the health issues that I have, and the family predispositions that I wish to avoid!

  4. To increase health through our food intake we have been cooking at home "from scratch" more, so that we have more input in what is in the dishes we are cooking. We are also planning an organic garden for this summer.

  5. I need this in my life because I would really like to get healthier and I think this would be a good first step.

  6. I am incorporating more salads into my daily meals. My husband won't eat them so I have always avoided them. I don't care that it gets wasted anymore because I know that I am being healthier.

  7. I thought what I read was interesting. I'm not positive if I was reading the same except as you but I was reading on page 126. I had typed in strawberries as the search and I read about the food rules. I found it interesting because we eat a lot of "meat and potatoes".

  8. Hi Everyone,

i have been looking to figure out a good place to start the Acai free trial & was wondering if someone had any thoughts on whether or not the stuff works for dieting? So far here's the one article I have been able to read online that seemed realistic for the goals I have. Opinions?

  9. I do a lot of really unhealthy things, but I'm trying to change. I stopped drinking soda and eating fast food for my new years resolution and feel great!
